Stop Hyping Japanese Games, Casuals
It's not the early 90's anymore when Japan was legit dominating the video game industry. Yes Japan still makes some good games in recent years such the Souls Series. Nioh 1/2 and they still dominate fighting games, but overall they are behind the times and no amount of American kids posting on forums with poorly anglicized Japanese names due to their identity crises and people with overall bad video game taste will change that fact.

Are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ serious with that question? Two of the games you have spent a combined total of well over a 1000 hours on were both developed by American companies. Your favorite game according to steam was developed by a British company.

Capcom have been pandering very hard to the West for over a decade now. They hardly resemble the company they used to be. Remember these guys went from Darkstalkers and Onimusha to generic fantasy and GaaS like everyone else.

No identity whatsoever.

Why wouldn’t they? Their games sell here. Everyone in Japan play mobile games now.

Two games that have completely fallen off in the last couple years. You should see my nintendo and sony account where I have over 10k hours in Japanese made games.

What does creative assembly have anything to do with NA producing low quality games? Europeans studios have some of the best developers out there...

i agree with you, Japanese games always get special treatment from gamers, they act blind about all terrible things about it, it's not fair and not good for the community and this is the result, Capcom has 0 respect for their fans.
just imagine this exact game from EA? the internet will go insane against them

No not specifically NA. I'm not insular like you, not that I am from there but in the last 25 years I could roll off an incredible list of games to come out of the US. I was referring to the drop off in Japanese games. Which has gone from being undisputed number one, to McDonald's gaming for kiddos. How many quality indie games come out of Japan? How many genres do they make quality game in? Their games are also generally not mod friendly because they decided to not move with the times and move into PC gaming, and also just looking at your profile personally I have more time playing Japanese games than you lmao. Maybe you have another Steam profile? My old profile is full of cRPG, RTS, FPS and Mobas all of which Japan has provided sweet FA to. Past the 90's the Japanese gaming industry has been mostly garbage trunk juice compared to how it once was and all of these kiddos replying with snarky replies on their anime avatars with their tiktok brains will not change that.

I don't know, Japanese gaming industries are pretty alright. Resident Evil remakes are a smashing success, minus RE:3, but Capcom got what they deserved for cutting half of the game out and trying to rush a development cycle. FromSoft titles have always been a hit, even Sekiro is pretty fun to play, may not be my favorite souls game, but it has it's moments. Persona is also doing well, the only real controversy from the P3:Reload release was "the Answer" wasn't included, but now it will be and most of them are happy. Some titles do suck, but i mean is that any different than the EU/NA market? i can name a couple game companies that aren't doing so hot in recent years.

this is actually for real though. Westerners make the best video games now days.

if being Behind the times means no forced ESG ugly characters and woke nonsense pushed on me then ok, good, I'll stay in the past with games from the East like Stellar Blade.

Lots of quality indie and local games. There are so many franchises that don't get released in the west, let alone ported to pc. Handhelds as well as consoles are a lot more feasible and common in Japan, that's also why you don't see anything barring major releases on steam. Japanese devs have noticed westerners would rather buy a low quality product for a high price while also purchasing MXT's to boost their progress due to lazines, hence why you get some bad titles every so often.

All of the greatest titles from NA have been between the late 90's to 2012 or so, with a few exceptions. I don't think I can name a single american made game in the last decade that is worthy of appreciation. Maybe xcom 2? So many american studios have just completely fallen off. Bioware, Bethesda, Blizzard, Bungie and Naughty Dog for example are just a husk of what they used to be.

Whilst a small number of people like you have been playing RE4 Remake and desperately trying to mod the game so you can escort Ashley nude through the game, most other people have moved on. Multiplayer has dominated the last two decades, mostly only rotters are stuck with games like those. See in the 90's we used to play RE games with our friends, not solo behind a PC desk. Different times straight out of the arcade era.
