The Call for Denuvo Removal
:summer2021action: This a reminder to everyone that DD2 will use Denuvo services for DRM.
:summer2021action: DRM In the game that does not have a full multiplayer, but a limited indirect coop via pawns.
:summer2021action: Denuvo is also known to limit operational performance of software and collect user data without user agreement. Lastly, Denuvo combined with publisher’s policy disables user mods.

:summer2021action: I call for all Arisen to band together in solidarity and force publisher to abolish Denuvo.

Wait till Capcom volunteers stumble across this thread.

they'll not ban you, but one of their supporters, it will seem more unbiased this way

but internally your thoughts are on deaf ears.

My main concern is if they'll use Denuvos new anti-modding features. If they just protect the exe it's meh but I can deal with it.

I really don't like Denuvo for a variety of reasons not the performance one that's debatable for both side's but I'd be ok if was temporary for like 3-5months.

I wonder how they'll stop people giving their pawns all area and enemy knowledge by flicking a switch on a trainer. Instead of doing it the hard way with legit rents. If monetization is linked to keep playing (using up artificially scarce resources), then they have an incentive to stop huge shortcuts like that.

I'm guessing their server will do before and after checks, impossible stats are easy to flag, cross-reference if there was even another account earning the stats for the pawn, legitimate rents versus alt-accounts from the same person lol, i dunnno stuff like that.

Be kinda crazy if people still find a way around it. The irony being if Capcom is paywalling it, people will have the incentive to cheat to save money, not just for "fun".

The end game of greedy developers is to have people pay full price for a skinner box that comes with the monetization of a gatcha. Lots of complaints of Streetfighter 6 now for the price of costumes, but moreso having to buy in-game currency first. Basically Capcom might also do that for dd2.

just wait a year, if CAPCOM follows the same decisions as their older games it'll be removed eventually.

Denuvo is here moreso to deter modding than piracy. Capcom wants their microtransaction milkies.

Straight up. They're not even worth trying to convince. Everything is misinformation to them if it doesn't fit their agenda.

Well +1 on the anti-denuvo thing. Not terribly anti-denuvo specifically, but I dislike DRM for the simple fact that steam itself is already DRM. Furthermore a lot of DRM introduces performance problems that simply do not occur without it (steam overlay kinda counts towards this, but at least you can turn it off).

Also it does nothing to prevent piracy, besides maybe delay it for a day or two.

I'd be alright with it if they only did one thing. The problem I described here. It's on my clipboard so it'll be copy and paste.
"If for some reason the user can't connect to Denuvo servers "when necessary"; The game will cease to function at all. It makes those knowledgeable enough want to pirate. It baffles me how anyone can be okay with such.

That's my biggest gripe I have very fast internet but I get drops for a couple seconds randomly through the day a lot it stopped me from playing Dead Space Remake to the point I had to emulate the launcher to bypass Denuvo & basically pause Denuvo with grabbing a Denuvo tokenfrom my game & pasting a Denuvo token that stayed in effect till I updated something on my pc I had to do all of that because that Denuvo in that game did a check every time it launched the game a completely offline single-player game I avoid all Denuvo games unless it's a very good game.
I want to see what they're going to do with it. If they try to prevent modding/cheating, I'm not gonna buy the game unless they remove it.

Fair. Though I would expect they will try and prevent pawns with modified stats from showing up in the rift regardless, as they did with the first game. That much is to be expected.

Though I agree anything beyond that they need to keep their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hands off it.

That's not a problem, at least for me. If they implement the same checks they did for the first game, it's not gonna be a problem for me and, besides, I agree with the idea that anything that is shared with other players online shouldn't be modified. On the other hand, though, everything that is part of the single player experience, I want to be able to modify it as much as possible.
