Flooded District - Always getting detected?

I'm trying to do a no-detection, lethal playthrough. It's going well so far but on the Flooded District level, I always get detected. I don't know when or by who, but when I finish the level, the Ghost box is always unchecked.

I've played it three times now and can't for the life of me figure out what is seeing me. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe it has something to do with Granny Rags? (I've tried both options when I get to her place in the sewers, no luck.)

Right before getting down to the sewers, did you break the wooden barrier or walk around it?

I always got detected too there. After many retries and such, and being SURE I had never been seen, I decided to concentrate on the granny/slackjaw part.
Tried multiple things.
Turns out it was because I pickpocketed the key from her. Yeah, same save : pickpocket -> ghost not checked. Get the key by vanquishing her -> Ghost checked.

Problem is, apparently, fighting her, even if you put a sleep dart in her flesh, will count as an invisible kill, according to Bethesda support page. There are still some discussion and nobody has really figured out what was what here, but some people do not get the Clean Hands achievement by doing so, while others do.
Alternatively, some people reported being able to pickpocket her while still getting Ghost. I haven't tried that myself yet, but maybe pickpocketing her and either trying to always stay in her back when she turns around to face you, or putting one dart in her to force her despawn, could work. I dunno.

Bottom line : make a manual save before the confrontation so you can try multiple things :p
Do not fear being detected after that part : the survivors you meet after that won't coun't as detection, nor will the River Krusts.

I pickpocketed her, blinked the ♥♥♥♥ out of there and got ghost.
So it is possible, I assume you just have to be fast.

Well, I've tried all of that. Still no luck. I tried pickpocketing Granny and blinking and time-freezing like a boss so that I was out of that whole area before she ever finished yelling at me and triggering the detection chimes. I also tried killing her the normal way. Neither worked.

To clarify, I'm trying to get a LETHAL playthrough. I don't care about killing people--I just want to go undetected.

I used blink 2, and time stop 2, and managed the pickpocket her and RUN AWAY. Also, if you don't do grannys quests at the start, the sewer door is unlocked and you can bypass that part

was gonna make a new thread but im having exactly the same issue
except granny/slackjaw dont even show up with me (i never did quests for them and always killed em)

anyways im doing a kill everyone, mostly flesh and steel and ghost run. most missions i get it right the first time around since normally is quite obvious when you got detected. but on this level in particular im just gonig nuts tryying to find out wth i did wrong
ive tried anything i could think of, ive done it so many times that i can finish it in like 10min without any visible alerts. but obviously someone is seeing me or something.
and of course im always getting 0 bodies found
is there anything in particular to this level? if someone has done it with ghost and high chaos please respond :p

I have noticed something that makes me wonder if it's a glitch--after you kill Daud and leave his area, and come out in that tunnel in the new area (the section with all the tallboys), the music that is playing is the "fight" music, like when you've been detected. This has happened every time--is it possible the game is "detecting" me for no reason?

That's EXACTLY the same thing that's happening to me! I'm also doing the same style as you are, no detection, killing everybody. Flooded District has two bugs for me, besides this one in the tunnel, right after you get your gear you enter a room with a bunch of dead overseers, a wheel to open a door and some Krusts at the bottom floor. When i first enter this room, about 5 seconds later, there's a detection sound (there's absolutely no one at the room) and some red lightnings come out at the corner of the screen, i've tried bending time and getting the hell outta there, but even if i manage to cover some serious distance, the sound still plays and i still see the red lightnings at the corner of the screen.

I was able to get around this bug by not going through this door, i just took the way back from the gear and ended up at the same place, without detection sound. So I guess going throught this door triggers a bug.

The problem is this second one, right after the tunnel, the battle music starts playing automatically, and there's also no hostiles in this part of the map. There's no way around this door and i've tried it a bunch of times to no avail. I killed Granny without being spotted, I also tried killing Slackjaw, either way, no Ghost box checked.

I tried a completely non lethal run too, even got hands clean but no ghost. I gave up and continued the game, got Ghost on every other level, even the last one. I finished the game VERY frustrated.

I've made it today. Step by step, it went like this (two versions, Clean Hands and not):

(Clean Hands) I came into the Granny's area crouched, behind her back, used Bend time 2, took her key and simply run and blinked to the locked door, went inside and closed the door behind me.

The other version was slightly different:

After taking her key I unlocked Slackjaw and run up the left staircase, but I didn't enter the room, just waited behind the wall by the window for her to finish ranting. When she teleported out I went in, burned the cameo and run to the locked door and hid in that room behind closed door. Cameo made her wulnerable and Slackjaw hacked her to pieces.


Maybe the key was in that I didn't talk to her or Slackjaw, just rushed in while bending time and did what wrote above.

This is wrong. Edit: I'm not saying *you* are wrong, but that information on Beth page is wrong.
