Dealing with multiple enemies
I'm still in the first main mission.
Early on you are asked to deal with (what turns out to be)
three thugs for Granny Rags. I'm trying to avoid killing.
So my question is how do you knock those guys out
using stealth, other than just hitting them with sleep darts?
I've tried throwing things down the street to distract them,
but they don't wander far enough from each other to allow you to
take one of them out undetected. It's not a big deal, and I'm loving the game,
but if someone knows...

I've had my problems too with that sort of situation, and the only solution I found was sleep darts from a safe distance. Everything else just alerts them. I guess it gets easier with possession later on...

use a bottle or item to throw, it will distract them. Then you can pick them off one by one. you dont need any fancy powers.

Slow time would probably work. I just blinked behind them and shot them with sleep darts.

sleep darts will still alert them from a distance, they notice their friend drop its still an alert.
What you have do to is go upstairs to the room with the balcony, blink to the ledge on the far right behind them and wait for the one on the right to be staring at the door and make sure the one knocking doesnt turn around. Then and only then can you choke hold the guyon the left (from behind view). Blink him back up onto the balcony and then go back downstairs open the front door and hide in the room to the right they will seperate one will head for the stairs one comes into the room you hiding in so make sure your on the fron door side wall so he doesnt see you when he walks in and then deal with them both. Its actually easier than it looks its just hard to get the one outside but thats how i done it

slow time is extremely effective at taking out multiple enemies, both lethally and non-lethally. summoning rats is also very useful, if you like watching people die a horrible rat-death

or you could, you know, throw a bottle, watch them split up and take them down one by one...

If you do it fast enough it won't. I managed to put them to sleep just fine. Besides, discovered bodies don't even count as an alert.

I lucked out and was able to choke one of the two furthest from the door without the other 2 noticing or caring, and then the whole ordeal gets a lot simpler. Don't be so liberal with sleep darts, though. They only cost 30 coins at Piero, and you'll never use all ten in a mission if you're good at sneaking.

a lot of blink or sleep darts

Dardestin, that was good advice.
I took it, did what you said, and it worked!

Thanks!
