You're joking right? The defense of this game is mind boggling.
It's basic:
1. Most people are right-handed, as mirrored by the on-screen weapon UI.
2. Most PC gamers are familiar with using the left mouse click as the primary violent action.
THAT'S IT.
Sir Digby Chicken Caesar, in your first reply you were just being an @-hole. Hopefully you can admit that. But beyond that, your point was valid - it was just a design decision by the developers to make the sword the primary weapon for assassination, and to regard ranged weapons in the same realm as powers.
Feel free to disagree with the decision, as I think that's a valid discussion, but please don't become part of the collection of @-holes who just insult other people on this forum.
It's not a big deal though since you can re-bind the keys. I've been re-binding since Bioshock confounded me with having to hit the wrong button for the wrong hand.
So left mouse button corresponds to the main weapon use which is usually in the right hand. This hasn't been changed when dual-welding became available in games.
Luckily you can rebind the keys/buttons so I don't see the issue here, it's just 'how it has always been', and old habits die hard.
Speaking of old habits, I always have to reverse the mouse Y-axis (thus moving the mouse forward=looking down), a relic from good old Wing Commander/X-Wing (joystick) times perhaps :p
Crouch on 'Left Control'
Running/Walking on 'Left Shift'
Character Screen/Mission Objectives Screen on 'Tab' (which is on 'J' for Journal some odd reason)
Use/Interact on 'F'
Jump on 'Space'
etc...
Meh. That honestly depends on who you talk to. A lot of old games have crouch bound to C, and even a lot of modern games do. Ive always been comfortable with left control as crouch, but recently ive really liked C for crouch, although it really depends on the game. Some games I like left control, others C.
