Dishonored
PS2 Dualshock 2 Controller
Has anyone been able to use the PS2 controller on this game? I've connected it to the PC with an USB adapter and i'm sorting the games that allow me to play with it off the bat or with some tweaking.

Dishonored however, even though it's stated to have 'full controller support', won't recognize it at all (no response from any button or thumbstick).

Has anyone been able to work this out? :Burn:

Why are you using that relic? A refurbished 360 controller should be quite cheap, and will require significantly less tweaking. As far as your question, I don't know.

EDIT: "Full controller support" doesn't mean that it supports every controller. It means that it can fully utilize a controller.

Most games that have been released since 2006 with controller support only support Xinput controllers, which is why it doesn't work with the DS2, I use my DS3 controllers as I have a PS3 I use for Blu-Ray so have loads left over.

I'm using it because I was cleaning through some old stuff and found both the controller and the usb/ps2 adapter and thought i'd give it a try, i'm moving addresses in a few days and it doesn't seem feasible to order one now and risk not being here to receive it.

I realize full controller support doesn't mean all controllers, but then again i'm not sure what 'partial controller support' really means, would only certain buttons work, or 1 out of the 2 thumbsticks? It's probably nothing like that but if it is i don't see the point.

I have a PS3 as well (and therefore a DS3), but how do you go about using it on the PC, since it's wireless? Do you need a special adapter, also does the motion sensor work at all?

I use motioninjoy, some people dislike it and say it is dodgy but I have used it for 2 years now. You can use it wired with a USB cable or wireless with a bluetooth dongle. It emulates a Xbox controller too which is perfect for all games after 2006 that support controllers.

When they say they partially support it means that some parts of the game are need a keyboard, like certain player actions etc, but you can mainly ignore it.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Seems to work fine.

Good, it does sometimes cause Blue screens, but you'll know after a month how it does it and how to stop it.

Do you know a few (or whatever you use yourself) bluetooth dongles that are certain to be recognized by Windows (7, 64bit) and will work with DS3? I tried plugging the only decade+ old one i had but windows won't even recognize what it is.

You have to load the motioninjoy drivers onto your bluetooth dongle. I have used an Advent one plus a cheap 99p shop one and they both work fine.

When you open motioninjoy go into the driver area, then load it from there.

I could get a newer one, but just to make sure, when i connect the BT dongle to the usb port on the computer (same one i was using before to connect the DS3 via direct usb cable), i get:

Then on MiJ's driver manager tab, there are no options where i would choose a device to load the drivers into, so if i click 'Load Driver' i get the following popup:

That shouldn't be happening if i'm to expect to make it work with this BT dongle, right?
