[spoilers] Who the heck is Emily's father?
Did I miss something? Other than a few hints left by the Empress that she's very emotionally attached to Corvo? I'd really rather not believe that Corvo is Emily's father - just think about it, an Emperess having an affair with her guard? In the world of Dishonored, rival politicians would be all over it.

And that leaves Emily's father unknown.

Take a look at this thread. There are several hints in the game that point to Corvo being Emilys father.

My guess is either it is Corvo, although it would be kinda silly not to upright mention it to the player that you are indeed "fighting for your daughter, saving your family" etc. Yet there are multiple hints in the game, sometimes other characters opinions that he very well might be.

What I honestly just thought off: What if the Outsider is Emilys father? That would tie in
-perfectly- with sequels.

Different points in the game definitely insinuate that Corvo is Emily's father, but no one ever comes right out and says it; I think the devs purposefully left it open ended and up to the player to decide what they believe.

I consider it most likely that Corvo is her father, purely based on how close he and the Empress were, and other character's assumptions in the game.

The thing is, not a single bit of Emily's father was mentioned, or even hinted, by anyone ourside of Emily and Jessamine the Emperess.

I could only imagine that Emily was the product of a political marriage gone sour, and her father died a gruesome, grim death that no one would like to mention.

It is suggested that Corvo is Emily's father, but I would like to believe that her father is Daud.

Yeh the way it is left open for imagination and/or interpretation it looks like Empress Jessamine certainly "made her rounds".

Well if you take the good ending... Emily buries Corvo with her mother... soo... either he is her dad or she came to see him as her dad.

It actually makes sense for her to keep her status as a single woman since that gives her more political weight to throw around than as a married woman running the empire.

I doubt Emily is the Outsider's kid because then Daud would have have never been succesful in his murder.
I doubt Daud is the father because ... then he would have just need to walk up to her and kill her rather than that elaborate ruse.

Daud probably slept with the empress without her knowing. He can teleport and all.

What's the point of that? He has an entire army of kids (boys and girls) that he turned into an army of assassins. If he wanted kids...., hell, if he wanted sex, he really didn't have far to go.

Get him on Maury and we'll know the truth once and for all.

There's actually a picture of Corvo in his room which Emily drawnt and it says daddy at the bottom of it, so i think it's safe to say Corvo is Emilys father.

You know the first picture not the big huge one but the small one, it says at the top left Daddy so my guess is that Corvo is Emily's step-dad seeing as Emily says Corvo and Corvo says Emily.

Plenty of hints are included in the game that Corvo is her father, especially if the player takes a low chaos route.

A number of high level/ranking characters speculate that this is the case, and nobody mentions a previous husband. According to the Dishonored Wiki, the devs confirmed that she never married, that Corvo was a talented soldier given as a political gift to Jessamine's father for whatever purpose. He was not noble, and not a suitable husband. Jessamine picked him as her bodyguard, (the first foreigner to take the role).

Without flat out saying it, the game hints as strongly as possible that the protector role brought Jessamine and Corvo together romantically. It's no coincidence that the Outsider takes Jessamine's heart and uses Piero to modify it into the device that Corvo carries around with him.

Emily produces a drawing of her mother complete with rosy red cheeks and the word "mummy" above it. If low chaos route is taken, then she does the same for Corvo with the word "daddy".

She also later makes a huge collage of him.

Once the game is completed on low chaos, Corvo doesn't wander off into the sunset. He stays by Emily's side for the rest of his natural life, and is buried by Emily in the family tomb right next to Jessamine.

They left it somewhat open so that it's possible he just became something of a father 'figure'. Emily certainly looks up to him throughout the game and would rather emulate him than learn from her tutor.

But really, they stopped just short of saying, "Yeah, he's her father". They even put in various progression points for visiting Emily once you've rescued her so you can check how your 'daughter' is getting on.

Personally, I like this facet. There are a few motivations you can project onto the game then, from revenge, to toppling an unjust dictatorship and restoring just rule, to seeking justice for the death of Jessamine, and then ... the motivation of rescuing your daughter.

Emily's father was a whale found in deep ocean while the Empress was travelling. It was unfortunately caught and turned into whale oil and tinned meat.

It was a tragic scandalous story forbidden to be repeated in the empire.
I am Emily's father.
