C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\170481\205100\remote
and deleted the most recent save (said 0 KB for me). this fixed my problem. not sure if this is related.
Try this:
Delete remotecache.vdf in
Steam\userdata\usernumber\205100
disable steam cloud (close settings window)
enable steam cloud (close settings window)
Let steam sync your saved games.
Launch Dishonored.
So! Here's a step by step:
1) Install game
2) Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\usernumber\game
3) Restart Steam in offline mode
4) Delete files in game\remote folder
5) Delete remotecache.vdf file
6) Launch game.
What I'm going to try is playing for a while, saving, and then re-enabling cloud sync AFTER backing up the local saves to another location (such as copying the folder to the desktop). Hopefully that will overwrite the remote files with the local ones and I'll be able to resume normal play.
Glad you fixed your problem.
Thanks but it will not save my game :(
