Dishonored
How to get both undetected and clean hands in Flooded District
This bothered me for three nights! And I finally got it!

* SPOILER *

At the shrine in the Sewers area of Flooded District, The Outsider mentions you being "at the eye of the storm", "between Granny Rags" (and Slackjaw). This isn't the only clue of Granny and Slackjaw having some kind of personal thing going.

Which begs the question: why are you involved in a fight between them? And I started to notice some inconsistencies during the fight. For instance, if you agree with Granny first, then lead Slack jaw along afterward, you lose the ability to steal her key. And, at that point, if you burn her cameo, she fights you with the most gusto.

I also noticed that if you agree with granny and then run up and burn her cameo, sometimes she doesn't have any fight in her at all, and she simply appears nearby you and starts weeping like a fightened civilian.

Then it occured to me: there's a moment between agreeing with Granny and talking to Slackjaw when I could still get Granny's key, and she would start talking but not notice me right away. So what to do?

You have to maximize the time you have. First of all, run up and talk to Granny. Then, go up in her room and open the furnace and grab the cameo. Then, run down and pilfer her key from her waistband. She'll catch you but you won't get an alarm charm! She'll go into a dialogue, instead. So rush over and UNLOCK SLACKJAW! Then get the hell out of there because if you stick around, Granny WILL notice you (and you'll get the alarm charm) and also, Slackjaw will just stand there like an idiot watching Granny while she just hops from location to location like an idiot, issuing taunts. So run up the catwalks and burn her cameo in the furnace! Don't forget to lock it for good measure! Then just run into the locked room and close the door, go get the item from the shrine, and then come back to the room.

If you peep through the peephole in the door, you'll see Slackjaw running around with his flaming bottle and yelling at Granny, and you'll hear her rushing around from spot to spot. The fight is on! This is the actual ultimate fight that you're supposed to trigger.

Jump into the canal and rush back to the early part of the sewer. You'll hear Granny lose it and you know Slackjaw must have won the fight! I wasn't sure this would work but I have to tell you, between gaming sessions, thinking it up, it seemed pretty brilliant, and I'm really surprised it worked. The group that made Dishonored deserve a lot of programming honors for coming up with something so relatively obscure, practically as obscure as something you'd expect from a Roguelike such as Nethack.

I was SO relieved to see the checkmarks for both Clean Hands and Ghost after this chapter. It actually worked! What a storyline, and WHAT a way to force the player to go along with it! I can't wait to see what happens later on in the game, now!

I also messed that one up at the first try. I just did these and succeeded both Ghost and Clean Hands:

1 - Talked to Granny and said I'd help her
2 - Talked to Slackjaw and told him the "This is not my fight" option
3 - Got up to the room with the cameo
4 - Burned the cameo in the furnace
5 - Granny Rags teleported to the room, I quickly got out and hid
6 - Granny starts combat but doesn't detect you, just make sure you are in stealth mode.
7 - Used Time Bend immediately after seeing Granny teleport somewhere, shot her with a sleep bolt
8 - Carried her body to the room and put her on the bed so that the rats won't eat her and ruin the Clean Hands achievement. (A lot of rats spawn after she is incapacitated, they despawned after a moment though..)

I went behind granny rags, stole her key, teleported to the door upstairs and left. Got it. I did a save just before and need to go finish each of their missions but my way seems the easiest. They can sort it out, I didn't kill anyone there.
