Dishonored

which is better? Dishonored or Bioshock Infinite
I love both of these games, but I can't make up my mind on which one i like more. Dishonored definetly has better gameplay than Bioshock but I liked the story in Bioshock more than the one in Dishonored(Dishonored still has an amazing story). What do you think?

In the end what is more important Story or gameplay?
If i wanted story i would have watched a movie

(i think dishonored since you can carry more than 2 wepons)

Dishonored would actually make kind of a nice action-pack movie if you think it in that way, tho' I am not sure how the bioshock would do as a movie.

Ignore Titomosquito. Every game in history that received a lot of praise gets its fair share of haters, because by human nature we hate being told what to like and we like to formulate our unique opinions even if we have to lie to ourselves or convince ourselves that we do not like the game. If you look at my profile, ive played both bioshock infinite and dishonored.. From my honest opinion, I can say Bioshock Infinite was a better game than dishonored mainly because it had a lot more rememborable moments and a way better story. Dishonoreds conclusion was honestly too straight forward and had no signifigant meaning to it, didnt impact me emotionally at all. Though I can honestly say Dishonored combat and combat freedom is way better than all the Bioshock series combat.

Everyone that didn't fall into the hype trap agrees that the game is overrated. Hell I wrote a scathing review of about 2500 words just on the gameplay alone and I didn't even get into the story. That wouldn't take nmearly as long to write though since the story isn't interesting enough to take that much time to dig into. There is a reason guys like thsi write stories for video games. They suck at it.

So many people went into that game expecting and thinking it would be a 10.10 game so they just bought into it. The more people that play it the more people that are truly tellign it like it is.

I compare Infinite in its disappoinment to that of Final Fantasy XIII. Both highly rated becaue reviewers get a ton of ad money from those 2 companies and both after the dust settles show up as average games by fans.

Infinite will nto be remembered. It is not that good. HEll it is already almost forgotten. Only still around because of the massive amounts of advertising they are spending their money on.

For me Dishonored is much better, I thought the story was ok in Bioshock but it disapeared up it's own backside at the end.
Dishonored has more atmosphere, is darker, has blink, Tallboys, rats eating people and plague victims with bleeding eyes :)
In Dishonored I'm always looking for alternative ways to explore and view my soon to be victims and plot out my mission from a vantage point, in Bioshock it was just a corridor shooter with some magic and an admitadly cool companion.

Dishonoured, as it offered a choice on what to do instead of "walk into here and kill all these guys"

Bioshock is the most overrated game this gen I think. Gameplay is so boring. Story isn't even that good which makes the 10/10 scores absurd. Total payoff of reviewers. No other explanation. I ahven't even played Dishonored, but I will guarntee that I would like it more. XD
Yeah, IGN was almost certainly going to give it a good score after a week of near to non-stop BioShock videos, about the art style, combat and story. If they didn't that would be such a back stabbing move. It was still wrong that they didn't portay the game properly, but I supose thats a problem with gaming journalism, if you accept things like making a weeks content for one game, and then getting paid for a 10/10 review, thats biased.

Bioshock grabbed me much more than Dishonored but for replay Dishonored wins hands down. Bioshock is just so amazingly crafted and I think with smart DLC it will end up being a better game all around than Dishonored.

I finish Dishonored but don't have Bioshock Infinite but I was blown away by Bioshock video trailer...

Dishonored is more dark evil but Bioshock look more like fantasy and open free while Dishonored need hide much...I think both big difference..

Dishonored is close similar to Batman Arkham City imo

Dishonored for the better gameplay. There are enough playthroughs of Infinite on Youtube so you get the story there without having to play a game with sub-par gameplay.

when reading all these comments about one or the other being better based on story alone.. i feel silly taking them seriously.

neither story is original and bioshock trying to appear mature or "thinking man" level is about as effective as a young boy wearing his dad's suit and tie, sleeve hanging to and dragging on the floor. ink pen mustache?

both games have stories which are borrowed or tired elements and cobbled together until there is coherence between begin and end. dishonored uses staples of every other video game we have seen hundreds of times (omg the premise has been done at least 1000 times ffs) and bioshock just hand picks and slightly reimagines history and bastardizes moral dilemma for your entertainment.

by almost any standard, both stories are incredibly cheap! cinematic experience par or better!

seems by the non story related comments that dishonored has meatier gameplay.

not to put down an entire generation (mine has its awful setbacks) but it seems those in the newest one coming of age is missing out on quality narrative and classic literature. the standards of video game story telling aren't really doing young people any favors and the standards themselves aren't really advancing much save a few exceptions. if dishonored or bioshock were to serve as primary examples of what story is for the uninitiated or young person then how much more ridiculous will video game reviews become in 10 years?

P.S. The cheap and easy stories might serve the game well enough, if anything to be part of the excuse to continue playing but as a primary motivation there is some massive fail somewhere in the works.. the gameplay wasn't that good but the story was AMAZING... hmmm

im not sure really, i love the atmosphere of infinite but the gameplay in dishonored has more depth.

Dishonored has amazing gameplay and a pasable story. Bioshock Infinite has an amazing story, and historical-social commentary, and passable gameplay. They both have stellar art directions and lore. I like them both in equal amounts but for different reasons.

Bioshock Inf.- Grand, colorful setpieces with a fantastic atmosphere and explosions and gunplay everywhere.

Dishonored- Dark, grim, oppressive atmosphere with lots of sneaking and stabbing and stealthing around.

It boils down to which style you prefer. They're at opposite ends of the spectrum. (There 'are' technically guns in Dishonored, but ... eh.. a good assasin should never have to use them)

Well put, though I don't know if I would say opposite ends, there are some commanalities. Also, I kind of see BSI and DH as complimentary games. They are equal parts good and well designed albeit well designed around different aspects.

I don't understand why people claim that Infinite is bright and not grim, in comparison to Dishonored.
More than half the levels in that game is as dark (and/or colourless) as the dark sections in Dishonored, and the bright colourful sections serve the purpose of showing the grimness of the city that tries to hide its dark side (and the whites' disregard towards blacks).

This kind of technique is used in Dishonored, too, and I'm not even sure that the dark/bright ratio is higher in Dishonored than in Infinite. (It probably is, though).
I think people are being biased by the first level in Columbia, whose screenshots shows up a lot in medias, and is quite memorable.
