Lord Regent assassination misson-how did you escape?
Just curious what other people did to get away, because I jumped straight over the wall of Dunwall tower into the water below and then swam to Samuel. It sure was one hell of a thrill after assassinating the Lord Regent to jump off the wall and silently into the water below, without being detected. I was actually surprised and impressed that the game let me do that, as it bypassed a lot of hazards doing it that way. But I would prefer it if you had a time limit to escape after assassinating the Lord Regent before they found out. I strangled him unconscious and then threw him off his balcony with the intention of him falling onto the floor below, killing him (I wanted to do that and then reload the game), but he landed on a chandlier instead, which also killed him but without alerting the guards. But yeah, did anyone else know that you can just jump off the wall of the castle?

Yep, it's quite easy to escape when one knows his way around. It is the same thing with the last mission. Though I did not discover those paths in my first game (that would spoil it, I just love watching the city as it changes, reading books, paper and so on).

I used the vent path to get out of the castle and it was a really easy straight-shot out

I didn't kill him. I just stayed in his room for 6 months until the loyalists came back to the castle with Emily. After which they were like "Corvo, you're alive?!" and I was like "Yeah! I knew you bas-tardos were going to double cross me so I just stayed here for six months - also, Sameul always find ways to touch my butt in the boat so I was trying to avoid him."

But, if you go that way, you loose out on some of hte whale charms.

I also escaped that way. I collected everything I wanted on my way in, so why fight my way out?
I crouched along the left (if you go towards the river) outer wall till I reached the corner. There's a
nice, thick bush there. I just waited for the tower to look away and jumped into the river. I believe
it's the safest way out, especially if you want to avoid detection.

I'm ****** Corvo Attano. I'm a ghost. I don't worry about detection... I make my enemies fear their being detected.

'Tis true. Corvo puts the fear of the Outsider into the wretched and corrupt. Unfortunately, he is
also the one who will be penalized for being detected. If you want to see that Ghost box ticked
at the end of every mission, it's best to tread slowly and carefully.

For some Ghost is a game achievement; for others, it's habit, the path they walk. I'm neither seen nor heard. My enemies fear me and know me only by reputation, from the satisfied gossip of the maidens I've pleasured while these Watchmen and Overseers stood guard inside and outside. And in the end...
I delete all my saves so nobody can prove otherwise. :D

I sleep-darted him and left him as the one single body to be found in that mission, emptied the safe just behind him, sent his confession on air then lingered tiptoeing around the place some more as I noticed there were runes and charms I hadn't found.

When I was done I slipped back out the same way I came in, vents, peripheral wall, watergate, with still only the 2-3 guards who were in the regent's bedroom immediate area vaguely on alert for they didn't know what :steammocking:

Wouldn't have thought of jumping in the water from very far away, the piranhas always seem to find their way to nibble on me.

Reading this thread back has just reminded me what I love about this game.

I spent quite some time swimming near the Tower and didn't find a single hagfish, so you don't
have to worry about those annoying creatures. Just make sure you don't hit the rocks.

I don't feel bad for using the same exact path then lol. I plan to redo it again tho. Seemed pretty easy to get to the Lord Regent. I used a rewire tool for the tower. Gotta love Blink!!!
