Dishonored
Harm's Way bug?
I know there is a 'cheaty' way to get this achievement, where you let 5 people accidentally kill themselves, on the Lady Boyle mission, but I wanted to do it in something more like normal fashion. So I rewired the two Walls of Light blocking the main entrances on Kingsparrow Island, stood behind, and let five guards fry themselves rushing towards me. But the achievement didn't trigger. Surely it should have? Has anyone else found this?

You can't do it that way. Apparently, that's considered suicide by their own action. As the achievement states, it has to be "unintentional". There are two ways to get this achievement. The most common way is, at the Boyle party, to possess a civilian and walk up to the wall of light and let go just before you walk into it. They will lurch forward and be killed in the wall of light. The other way is a bit harder. You can get a guard to shoot at you and instantly stop time, possess him and walk him around in front of his own bullet. I've never tried that one, myself.

Thanks. I'll have to try one of the other two methods.

You have to laugh though becuase there is nothing unintentional about the methods used to create these um... suicides. :D

I just doesn't count. Is it "fixed" ?

Did you re-wire the wall?

Necro, but I'm having issues with this Achievement. I'm not at Lady Boyle's party, but I am trying to use another Wall o' Light. If I don't rewire the wall, when I disposses the guy, he stumbles through the wall without dying. If I do rewire the wall, he dies. But, after 5 of those, I don't get the Achievement. I haven't tried it yet, but I've seen other people say they don't get the Achievement via the shoot/time stop/possess/change locations method either. How is this Achievment "supposed" to be done? And, why isn't the Wall o' Light method considered a good enough suicide?

EDIT: I went back and paid more attention to how people have done this in the past. At the Party, it's the GUESTS that "suicide." Not the GUARDS. The guests are the only ones affected by the Wall. Apparently, hacking the Wall then makes the guard's "suicide" an intentional kill. I'll have to wait for a better location than where I currently am.

I just tried possessing 5 guards and dis-possessing them while standing on an edge of a dropoff. They all took that final step forward and died. No Achievement. Seems pretty silly to me. I guess I'll just give it up until I get to the Party.

I've had several cases of guards stepping into the line of fire of another guard attempting to shoot at me and getting killed that way, but not sure if it either doesn't count or didn't happen at least 5 times.
