Bugs in mission 2
So i got no kills and ghost on every mission yet no achievement, so i decided to fully playthrough the game. Problem is, in the second mission i simply can't get ghost checkmark. I've tried reloading a dozen times, sleepdarted both Campbell and Curnow, then took out every guard there is in upstairs section, i've tried letting Curnow die and then killing Campbell in the secret room. I've tried turning of the music player and letting Curnow dispose Campbell and sleepdarting them both in the secret room but no, no ghost checkmark. So i tried this trainer which gives me invisibility but no, i get the checkmark in every other mission except mission 2. What the ♥♥♥♥ is wrong with this ♥♥♥♥?

Try following them both to the secret room and, when Curnow faces the painting, sneak up behind Campbell and choke him out. Curnow should just walk away and not notice anything. Loot the room and give Curnow time to escape (it takes a couple minutes). As long as you didn't alert or kill anyone earlier, you should get the ckeckmark. For Ghost, you're allowed to kill Campbell. If anyone's threat meter turns red, even for just an instant, they are alerted and, no Ghost checkmark. This works for me every time.

as note compared to cuberwiz97's comment, curnow will most likely talk to you for a bit, saying how he should probably arrest you, but thanks you instead and says that you look familiar to him. he will proceed to escape the area, and will not be hostile or notice campbell.

what probably happens that gets you detected is that guards often patrol into the interrogation room after you brand campbell. knock out all the guards in that area and put their bodies in the pipes below the ceiling before you brand him and remember to shut the doors (it is probably his scream when you burn him that attracts the guards).

That's interesting. I've never had that scenerio play out in all the times I've played the mission. Every time I creep up behind Campbell (while Curnow is looking at the painting), I choke him out and Curnow never notices. He just walks away without saying a word. I'd like to play it and see your version. How exactly are you getting that to happen?

Tried, no ghost checkmark. As i said, i went through the game with an invisibility cheat that gave me ghost on every single mission from prologue to brigmore witches only exception being mission 2. Tested as you said with and without the cheat. Also i noticed that some of the guards near the branding room and upstairs in general walk with their swords drawn out after the scene wine scene with Campbell and Curnow. I think i'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ done with this game and it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Red! If they go white you better reload a save.

Really? I suspected full white (six white strips) might be a level of suspicion that could negate ghost but wasn't sure. But, I thought that level one (just two white strips) was just a warning to get out of site. Does that negate ghost too?

Seems to be with my playthroughs. I have clean hands but can't yet get ghost. I did the Sister mission like six times in a !@#$%^& row just to get the stealth check mark. For some reason it kept telling me I had been observed even though I walked with her to the basement or to her bedroom. At first I thought it was because I had the duel, but it was a no go even when I missed the duel. Sixth time I had the duel and I walked with her to her bedroom and it worked. Go figure.

That final play I didn't take anything downstairs and never messed with the upstairs guards to get into the far bedroom with the vault key and the good coin. I also came away thinking that if you take the collectables downstairs then you have been 'seen'. As you get that, "go ahead. I had my servants sew in a special pocket" convo.

I'm not sure about any of this because -and I swear on my keyboard- no AI saw me kill anyone, period, during any of the mission plays as I did that in the basement or upstairs, and I reload a save at the slightest hint of a white "huh".
I had that experience in the Campbell mission. Overseers who can hear my dart gun from meters away. ???Huh??? No stealth check mark.

That's good info. I'll have to pay more attention during future palythroughs. I just finished the Boyle Party mission and got Ghost okay. Even though I didn't think a white threat meter would negate the ghost, I still didn't trust it, so I'd avoid even the slightest bit of white or, like you, would reload if I saw it.

As for the "huh" or "what". Occasionally, I hear it even when I'm not in view of any hostile or making any sound at all. I think, unless it's accompanied by the threat meter, it doesn't affect anything. Still, trying to confirm that, however. I'm hoping it's just a cheap scare tactic the devs threw into the game to keep us guessing.

Since that mission can be done in a relatively short amount of time, I might just go through it again and test some of this.

Well, I just deleted all my game saves and I'm starting fresh to get the ghost achievemment. So I will be off the forum for a few days. :-)

Good luck to you.

Been doing the second mission myself and recently got it. I'm completely paranoid about the whole thing and am going with the same things as others here. Seeing a meter pop up = reload or even hearing them say anything when I assume it's avoidable. Sometimes it apparently isn't like at the start of that mission with the guard tower gunning down some people on the bridge.
But I had guards being suspicous every time I followed the two downstairs. hearing things like "I'll find you..." etc.
I ended up knocking out everyone on that map before entering the room with the wine in it, still happened. Apparently it were the 3 guys in the room they came out of. Hid on top of the lamp in the room with the glasses in, blinked in, knocked them out and proceeded. Got the checkmark.
I'm on the bridge now, got 3/3 marks for not killing, or being seen.

hey that was fast! 11 hr. non stop playthrough and only had to do flooded district twice to get the shadow achievement. That flooded district is a bugger being so long. By the time you come out the other end there is no way you can predict where you made the mistake and got seen and never caught it. Do one thing, save, do one thing, save, do one thing save... lol

I'm fried. :-)

Well, I can tell you that if you want the shadow achievement best not to let any white alerts slip past you.
cyberwiz97 Jan 12, 2015 @ 7:10pm
I went through "Return To The Tower" last night and, when first entering the tower, I came across a guard whose threat meter turned full white. No red...but all six strips were white. Not being concerned with ghosting it or not, I just continued playing. At the end, my Ghost (not detected) box was checked!. I have to conclude that even going full white doesn't negate ghost. I'm gonna keep watching for this during subsequent missions., in case this was just a fluke.

They're usually accompanied by an audio cue.
Starting the Boyle party now, above states some issue's with that as well.
Going for Clean hands as well probably won't help either.
Need to kill a tallboy with just the sword as well here. Seems like the perfect place to do it.
