Creating a Safe Haven glitched?
I saved the group in the Flooded District and got the objective completed mark in my log. However, when I leave the area and try to sneak towards the wall I can in the distance see some idiots in the group leave the safe zone and run towards the Tallboy; Getting themselves killed. Is this supposed to happen or is it a major glitch?

could you tell me what mission, what location and where exactly you have found this, because I have gotten almost 200 hours and never seen that quest...

It comes up once you enter the area where the plague train dumps corpses into a canal. Proceed to the next area where there are several Tallboys patroling the plague wall. To the extreme right of this area if you face the main objective there is a building with a few survivors in it which give you the Safe Haven quest. The objective is to shut down two Arc Pylons in the ally behind the house for them to escape. You must keep the Tallboys distracted in order for them to safely escape.

I believe it's a valid problem to be solved. After realizing how stupid some of the people of that group are, I reloaded and did this part again. This time, I took out the tallboys with a drop kill from an overhead balcony.

I think "make safe" in this context means no harm can come to them inspite of their stupidity. :-)

I have exactly the same glitch. I led them to safety, listened to them talk, and left. The mission was marked as completed. So I saved the game and moved on. Then I died and had to load the save. But... instead of staying put, the survivors left the safe haven and started walking back to the hotel. Got themselves killed, naturally. And now the mission is marked as failed. WTF? And from what they're saying I gather they think they're going to the safe haven (when in fact they're going back to the hotel). And what am I supposed to do now? Replay that torture of a mission?

To be honest, this side mission is a total mess. Other people reported a bug when they couldn't complete the mission unless they brought some corpse to the safe haven. You can't control the survivors, so you have to bend over backwards to lead them to safety. They are not even trying to hide! No, they have to walk tall and proud! The main survivor you're supposed to protect ain't even walking, the bloody fool is strolling! Once they reach the safe haven, they walk about as if they're at a cocktail party. Those morons are standing in the middle of a well lit courtyard, with a tallboy walking back and forth ten feet from them, and they don't seem to give a duck. In reality, I would tell them to keep quiet, crouch to safety one by one on my command, and lay low when they get there. But no, in nearly every game there is a mission to protect someone or lead them to safety. And in every mission of that nature the AI sucks so bad that you want to finish those moronic NPC's yourself.

P.S. And I can't get rid of the tallboy because I'm playing it on very hard, with no powers (I don't even use Blink), and I'm also going for the Ghost and Clean Hands achievements. So fighting a tallbout is out of the question.

Okay, so I've tried loading various saves. No joy. But then I decided to try a fix for another bug in this mission. So I led them to safety, brought a corpse marked as "weeper" from the hotel to the safe haven, went upstairs and sat there for about 20 mins watching those morons. Then, all of a sudden, the autosave icon appeared. I climbed to the roof of Alfa's house and saved the game before jumping on that corpse wagon. I missed the wagon and died. I loaded the save, but this time everything seemed to be normal. So I finished the level, and the stats told me that I did help the survivors escape. I don't know if that's a solution or not, but it worked for me.

Lately, the way I typically do this part, seems to result in saving the survivors and getting credit for it, without anyone strolling out into harms way...

After getting the key to the upper floors, I open all doors then, I go to the room across from the top floor of the hotel. I rewire the arc pylon to kill enemies then, drop down and tell Blake the coast is clear. I go to the ground floor exit door and open it outwards. I stand in the doorway, blocking the survivors from leaving until the tallboys have moved away from the area. I then let the survivors pass and they move to the courtyard. It always seems to work for me.

iirc, this side job shows two objective completed messages, both with a green checkmark. 1) When the six other survivors are up to the courtyard and 2) when Blake comes out and is up the stairs to the courtyard. I don't leave them until I see both messages.

The reason I mention this is, I've heard of problems with helping Emily escape the Golden Cat. If you go through the door before the objective completed message comes up, the primary objective may be failed or something. But, if you wait patiently for the message, there's no problem. That's the closest thing to a solution as I can get, I'm afraid.

It's a general problem with this game. Loading a save may yield unpredictable results. You just never know. I had all kinds of problems when I loaded saved games, so I usually try to keep a bunch of saves around just in case some of them get corrupted.

As for this particular mission, I managed to complete it when I brought a female corpse marked as "weeper" to the safe zone. Idk, maybe she's a plague survivor as well.

Interesting solution. I'll remember that, just in case.

Sorry to bump this, but thought I'd add my two cents. The blocking method works well - just stand in the door when the tallboys are nearby so the survivors don't get creamed. Also there IS enough time for them to move in between patrols without your intervention, but good luck trying to time it.

Edit: Nevermind, Blake wondered back into the apartment and got shot, then the rest panicked and died, wonderful xD

I found a solution but it's not pretty. Once they are all assembled in the "safe zone" wait for about 2-10 minutes and the leader will fall sick and go back to his start zone and puke (etc) and then circle back to the "safe zone"- in my game(s) he would survive the trip back to the start zone and then die trying to get back to the "safe zone". I possessed him just before he went down the steps and walked him back to the boarded up door that's furthest from the steps. Once I jumped out of his body he stayed in that position/place and didn't move. His sister keeps flirting with the steps but she didn't go down in my playthrough. I then went to the next section and my achievement of saving them stuck
