I know, it shows different names, but I mean- dev team always moves from this company to that, so I thought some of Bioshock team might have made Dishonored.
Looking at things from a big-picture perspective, there are a number of less formal connections. By tracing the careers of developers, company histories, and so forth, both games can be traced back to Ultima Underworld, the game that inspired, in one way or another, Wolfenstein 3D, The Elder Scrolls, System Shock (and Bioshock), Deus Ex, Arx Fatalis, Thief, and Dishonored. It's really interesting to try to trace the design lineage, if you have time. Look up Origin Systems, Looking Glass, Irrational, Arkane, Ion Storm, Warren Spector, Harvey Smith, Ken Levine, and Doug Church if you're interested in digging deep.
Wow, thx, it's really informative. I guess many designers and developers work in many different teams and games, or the team help others, inspire others, getting ideas from each other, I think it's amazing.
The list you said is very interesting. Actually it looks like a big map linking most major dev teams in game history.
I get what you're saying to some extent, but judging by voices and graphics alone is usually not indicative of a specific developers 'style'. Both Bioshock and Dishonored just happened to go for a sort of dark, slightly cartoon'y look.
