I'm not a GN, but it really hurts the comprehension. Please please edit your post.
Because life without conflict is not life at all.
"well ♥♥♥♥ i won and got revenged and killed everyone but the empress is deasd, even though her daughter needs protection , i better just off my self for no reason"
jumps out window outsider saves him
uses gun outsider saves him
tries to hang himself outsider saves him
"I'm taking Emily to Disneyworld so that there can be another coup that causes her to lose the throne again so Bethesda has a hackneyed excuse to make Emily the badest mofo besides me and Daud that Serkonos has ever seen . . . and I really suck at being a bodyguard."
"corvo im here to kill emily"
"uh sorry corvo killed himself but emily is a badass now"
And no, he wouldnt do it right in front of Emily if he "were" to take that action. Hes not an ass. He didnt even want Emily to know hes been killing.
I am a jerk intentionally some of the time. "But job done, I have nothing to live for, even though the Empress told me to look after Emily, better kill myself" makes absolutely no sense to us.
Just in case you didn't know, Dishonored 2 takes place 15 years after what happens in Dunwall. As far as the ending(s) of the first game, i think those are likely outcomes, but not absolutely according to the Outsider.
(So far) there is no story point which says that Corvo is blaming himself for the death of the Empress. This also makes it easier for the player to identify with him, because those feelings would be irrational, even though they appear in real life.I don't think that Corvo blaming himself is not a possible element of Dishonored 2, maybe for his high chaos story. The same applies to Emily. Her hatred for the people who killed her mother might get stronger, if other things in her life go wrong. But so far, main characters don't despair in these situations. If their mind turns dark, they identify with it and get bad personalities.
For the cultural aspect: Suicide as a way of keeping your honour in defeat or failing like the japanese seppuku just doesn't exist in the world of Dishonored at this moment.
Edit: I just remembered, that the first concept of the world of Dishonored was mainly based on japanese culture, in that case there would have been more space for a ritual suicide element. To apply that element to Corvo though, he would need to have additional character elements that are contrary to the current, so ritual suicide would only be an option for defeated enemies. I think suicide of the main character even if you succeeded no matter if low or high chaos, would also be very dissatisfying for the player.
The only ending where he could have possibly killed himself shortly afterward was the ending where Emily dies, and we already know that ending isn't canon. (And any ending where Corvo just stands there doing nothing while Emily is killed was never going to be canon anyway.)
