Dishonored

Do I need a solid computer to play this??
I just bought this game on sale and I just typed this into Google quickly but I didn't find a clear answer. I don't know my specs by heart but I'll know by tomorrow. It plays most games alright but not much of the new stuff

Dishonored is pretty light on system requirements and should run pretty well on most systems of this decade.
Your system isn't very beefy, but it should handle the game at 1080p60 with max, or close to max settings.

You didn't ask, so either you don't care or you already know, but I feel I should say this anyway:
I'm saying your system isn't very beefy because I estimated the specs using your CS:GO screenshots and the framerates you are getting in certain scenarios with specific settings.
I don't actually know your system, I'm just making an educated guess based on somewhat relevant evidence and my own experience.

If you want to know for sure, just post your system specs once you know them and I'll/we'll be able to tell you exactly how it should run :)

That would be correct lol. I was a console gamer up until a few weeks before Christmas last year so I never really needed a good pc to pay the latest games. This pc is one of my dad's old ones which gets me through what I want at the minute but I'm also saving up for a better pc because I have to share this with my sister so I would rather get one in my room for me :)

I have an horrible video card (beyond horrible) and the rest of my system is pretty average. I run this game 30-40 on low. After optimization you should get a good amount of FPS. The game is awesome and there's a sale right now. I reccommend you get the GOTY Edition. You're gonna have a lot of fun. PS: The DLC includes 2 new campaigns, 3 awesome levels each. And a DLC includes some pretty awesome challenges. The rest are Pre Order bonuses that you get in the beginning of the game so don't be alarmed if you don't notice it. This is an awesome game. I sound like an advertisment don't I? Well enjoy the game if you get it! Savor it too. This isn't a one playthrough kind of game.

I dunno, Dishonored is weird on my laptop. I have an XPS 12 with an i7 core and Nvidia 540m, I get very high frames like around 60 on medium/high settings, but I don't play it anymore because I kept crashes where I'd get an error message saying something about kernel driver stopped working but recovered, then lots of bad things happened to my computer and it turned out the graphics card was fried.

I'd like to say it was a coincidence, but over the last 2 years its happened each of the 4 times I decided to play the game again; it does not happen on any other game, like Bioshock infinite or assassins creed black flag or wolfenstein the new order.

Maybe if you got a desktop or an alienware it will run okay for you but it destroyed my laptop 4 times (thank God for technician warranties)

yeah, the game is good, but its a laptop killer for me, and I've probably spent more time talking to the Indians from Dell technical support than actually playing the game. So sadly I won't touch it again until I get a better rig.
