There are a few games like this one & Rage that need a bigger Virtual Memory Cache.
Go to (Control Panel\System & Security\System) & click on Advanced system settings.
Then click the Advanced tab on the (System Properties) box that has popped up. Then click on the "settings" button in the Performance section.
Now another box has popped up (Performance Options). Now click on the Advance tab again & make sure "Programs" are selected in the first section (Processor schedualing). It should already be that way by default. Now click on the "change" box in the Virtual Memory section.
Now another box has popped up (Virtual Memory). Uncheck the box that say "Automatically manage paging file space for all drives" After that look down & select "System managed size". Now click ok on each box until you are prompted to restart you PC. Then restart your PC. Now the game should work.
If you want you can also use the custom setting in Virtual Memory instead of system run, & create your own size of cache.
This helped me on my older system back when I didn't have enough RAM or VRAM. Good luck!
Apparently trying to load a previous save also doesn't work right.
I've also already tried reinstalling the game, which didn't help.
1. right click on Dishonored in your game library and select properties
2. from there you select 'local files' tab at the top
3. select 'VERIFY INTEGERITY OF GAME FILES...'
then follow the prompts it gives you and leave it for a bit while it does its business.
I hope this helps
