How to kill the guy with the music box?

I killed the tall boy and everyone els in that room but the overseer with the music box seems impossible to kill. He drains your health and you can't get close to him so I can't kill him with my sword. I tried shooting him with crossbolts and I even tried throwing a gernade at him but he just won't die.

Grenade should work but be most effective from behind rather than from front. You can also try going for his legs.

Spring-razors and fire-bolts are also quite effective, but it can be hard to aim at the fleshy bits with both those masks and large music boxes in the way.

Put a crossbow bolt between his shoulder blades and just below the neck. A sleep dart to the back or legs will take him down, as well. Another trick, when at a distance, is to attach a springrazor to a throwable and toss it at him. It's a lot quieter than a grenade.

I'm assuming you're talking about inside Lady Boyle's Manor. There's two Music Box Overseers there. One simple trick if you have "Bend Time II" is to step outside of the radius of his music box, freeze time and Blink behind him to strangle out or kill.

As someone else said, grenades and Springrazors work well. Just plant a Springrazor before you while backing away from the Overseer and, eventually, he'll walk over it. I haven't tried Devouring Swarm on them from a distance, but I'm sure that works, too. Windblast can sometimes stumble them on Level I. I'm not sure if Level II will knock them off their feet from a distance.
