Dunwall City Trials is going to drive me insane
Am I the only one finding DCT extremely hard? I'd love to get all the achievements, but I'm finding it tedious and almost impossible to get decent scores on all but a couple of the challenges.

I just did a bunch of runs of Mystery Foe, managing to get "Lucky Guess" (only collect three clues and still kill the right person) wtice, and barely scraped two stars on one of those successful attempts. I'm feeling a bit frustrated.

Nope. You're not alone. I started one but also became frustrated. Especially after watching some of the videos. They all just seem like an excercise in trial-and-error. The other problem I had was that, if you failed somewhere during a trial, you had to start all over again. There's no save/reload.

Oh, I hate the lack of save/reload, if only so I can spread out a challenge over a couple sessions. I like to play for a bit in the morning over coffee, and it would be nice to come back to my current state (and weapon assignments!!!) after work. Even if it was a hard checkpoint, like between waves, I'd be good with that.

It's crazy hard, reminds me of the Arkham Asylum/City challenges, I just gave up and went to Knife of Dunwall.

Wrong do it again! If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding, how can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat!

That dlc is hard as hell, but you can complete it. If you are going to unlock the achievements... well, good luck on that.

I may have lost hope... but Back Alley Brawl keeps calling. 28k+ score. I just know I can get to round 13...

The achiev from Back Alley Brawl is disgusting.. Mainly because when the tallboys start spawning, they will just kill weepers, thugs, etc very, very fast so you have to Bend Time real quick and time everything perfectly. You'll definitely have to restart half a million times. :)
But, for me, the two most frustrating ones were the Headhunter and Daredevil achievs. I don't even want to tell you how many hours I spent trying to get those two but my sanity dropped significantly during those "sessions". Have fun!

Phryxo... lol I'm not sure "have fun" was the right sentiment to wrap up that comment. I've already been through some of them a LOT. I thought it was painful going through Mystery Foe over and over trying to get the Lucky Guess bonus, and when I got it I thought I'd be done... nooooooo, not even close to 30K. The tallboys in Back Alley Brawl are also getting me down. I'm getting pretty good at blink assasinating them.

I gave up for now and I'm working on the High Chaos achievement, which DCT has actually been good prep for.

Haha, "have fun" was a intended to be a bit sarcastic. But it's definitely important, it's not worth it if you're not having fun. I remember when I did the trials, I was so frustrated with the Headhunter achiev, I was not enjoying myself but I wanted to have all 80 achievs so I kept going. Once I got all I stopped playing for more than 6 months. So definitely have fun!
Oh and I just saw the screenshot you took from Mystery Foe and I know why you aren't getting the 3 stars - It's because the time it took you is waaay too much for a high score. I don't remember how exactly the trial works but I remember having to set map markers on (you probably have them off) just so I knew where the clues were as fast as possible. That way you only need to guess right or kill the target, if you get all 3 clues. You'll get it in no time.

I'm not good at fast moving (which is why I dig stealth and tend to build up characters that are stealthy). I've watched a few vids of folks getting three stars on various challenges, and I'm just not sure I can pull it off. I either have to get lucky or practice a run so many times (like the drop assassination challenge) it's muscle memory.... and I HATE that. I think I'm just going to have to not be in a hurry and work on the challenges and achievements between other things until I get them nicked off.

I do have map markers on - I have a hotkey set to hide the hud for screenshots. I'm not sure what my fastest time is through Mystery Foe, but I pretty much get thorugh it as quickly as possible. Sometimes the clues are in easy spots, sometimes they are, but I pretty much have all the potential spots memorized at this point... sometimes I have to hunt for a match, though.

Hmm, that's a little odd. Are you using Blink? Now that you have memorized where the possible locations are I can't imagine it taking you much longer to get the 3 stars. Shoot for under 3 minutes or 2.5 minutes even. I'll go back in and refresh my memory of how the trial works, see if I can help you in some way but just ask if you're having trouble with some of the trials, people here were very supportive when I was having trouble getting them down.

Yep, blinking all over the place. I'll give it a shot and see what I can do. Of course, it'll take 37 attempts to get the Lucky Guess :-)

Okay, three-starred Mystery Foe. Got doubly lucky and the target was in the same room as the third clue. Interestingly, I believe she took an action she doesn't normally do (walk over to a side table instead of continue standing in front of a painting).

Congrats! Expert mode is really the same tbh so you won't have a problem with that one. Oh and I'd forgotten about that little thing: if their behaviour changes from what they usually do, it's a dead giveaway that that's your target. I don't think you get as high a score if you don't have at least 2 clues. The Natural Talent achievement is by far one of the easiest, too. But you'll definitely enjoy the other stealth trial, that was my favorite, I think... :)
