Daud's Blink
Is it me or Daud's blink is more faster than Corvo's? Daud's seems like he's really teleporting, Corvo's feel more like he's sprinting or something, am I the only one that thinks that?

Well dauds pauses time, and to me thats a bit annoying, i prever Corvos blink simply because of its simplisity

I think you've misunderstood what I said, Daud's blink animation feels / plays faster than Corvo's, like he's actually teleporting, not hooking or sprinting at something like Corvo's.
Besides, Daud's more tactical, you can easily Blink in mid-air thanks to it's innate time pause.

I think so too, but I chalked it up due to Daud being marked longer than Corvo did and have mastered the art of 'transversals (fancy way of saving 'blink'). Hence why his felt faster and moved with more grace. It makes me wonder just how Granny Rags does 'blink'.

It's because daud blinks instantly, while there's some slight travel time on corvo's

That seems most likely to be the case.

I agree Daud has had it longer and due to his line of work has had oppurtunity to refine his skill

Exactly. Daud is a master assassin, having had years of practice and refinement.

Side Note: While playing as Daud, you can still magnify as with Corvo's mask. I have concluded that Daud carries around an actual spyglass in his vast arsenal of professional tools and gadgets.

Side Side Note: Although Corvo's crossbow is badass, a small, concealable wristbow (Daud's) is WAY more badass.

This brings to mind the next-to-last level in the original campaign (in which you fight Daud as Corvo), where you can sneak up on two assassins who are training. The instructor is explaining the "thought" process of teleporting. I feel like Daud's teleport power should've been called something other than Blink, although -- as others have said -- it could quite easily just be an improvement upon Blink. I also thought it would be interesting if you actually could bring up a minimap when you Blink as Daud and click where you want to teleport. If you've fought assassins much at all and listened to that training session, you'll see why. The assassins love to teleport behind you -- something impossible to do with Blink -- and I feel like Daud should be able to pull that one off. Thus the minimap idea.

I think this could be pulled off better(or more smoothly) by making a kind of 'spectator view' in wich you use blink, whigh freezes or slows down time and allows you to fly your view around to somewhere you've seen and teleport there. This could better reflect how that other assasins use it and the thought process described by the assasin teacher guy.

Opinions?

They are both rapid movement, neither are teleporting.
Owl Aug 11, 2014 @ 1:55pm
corvo is sprinting in air pretty much, daud does teleport.

Either Daud moves much faster than Corvo, or he teleports.

In Corvo's Blink I could see motion blur when you use it, also the wall of light kills you if you try to blink past it, meaning that Corvo's Blink is fast movement. Daud's Blink is teleportation to the people of that world. He freezes time, blinks, than unfreezes time. People see Daud just go from point A to point B, but Corvo they see a blue blur go from point A to point B.

Thats what I think.
