How to non lethal a tall boy?

So basically this is my first time playing through the game and i have been really enjoying it. ive got reasobly far into the game without killing a single person and i was curious wether its possible to take a tall boy out without killing him. thanks

Nope. Tallboys cannot be knocked unconscious. :(

really? im almost positive i read somewhere that you can. oh well. guess i will just have to avoid them.

Unfortunately no, but if you're playing the mission where you come back to the hound pits pub and there's tallboys around, get the blueprints from havelock's old room and give them to piero who's in his workshop. You'll soon get the option to put everyone to sleep, so that works.

you can't the ONLY time you can knock a Tall Boy out is when you return to the Pub after being betrayed that's the only time you can do it and it's not even by your hand that does it it's a machine

I was trying to spare you that, Yari but, since the spoiler is out of the bag now ... to be precise, it's Piero's arc pylon that knocks them out, not you. You do decide whether to put them all to sleep or burn them but, all you do after that is put the whale oil tank in the recepticle. There is still no way *you* can render a tallboy unconscious.

I found this part slightly confusing since you receive the optional mission to "incapacitate" (meaning kill apparently most of the time) after spending the entire game ignoring the Tallboys entirely (just treated them like roaming security cameras).

Since I usually am a no kill type of guy, I just ignored the objective since the reward couldn't be more than a line of text or two, especially after spending a couple minutes attempting to sleep dart/sleeper hold one of them.
