If I recall correctly everything I'm going to say, on PC they just changed the name of the GOTY edition to Definitive edition, since the original pc version at max setting looks pretty much the same as the "remastered" versions for new gen consoles, but even a bit better (the consoles version has bit better ambient occlusion and parallax mapping, but the pc version has better texture filtering and framerate). You would basically get the dlcs (if you don't have them already), since the base game is exactly the same.

thanks for the info!
so its not really worth preordering DS2 for the definitive edition?
i dont owe the dlc's though

Depends on how much interest do you have in DS2. I guess. If you are planning to buy it at the same price when it's released, it might be worth it to preorder it: you would pay the same price (assuming it won't change, I haven't checked) and additionaly get all the dlc of DS1.

The "problem" of the DS1 dlcs is that they are not cheap to get if you already have the normal edition: there isn't an upgrade from the normal DS to the GOTY/Definitive edition and the dlc don't usually have big sales. The goty edition does indeed have big discounts, and it's probably the cheaper option to get the dlcs when it's on sale, but it's like buying the game+dlc when you already have the game, so it doesn't feel right.

I have never preordered games, so I don't know what happens when a preorder comes with a free copy of a game you already have, you should have better luck asking that in the DS2 forums.

I just pre-ordered Dishonored 2 from Greenmangaming and got the Dishonored Definitive Edition Steam key instantly. I already had Dishonored, so activating the key has just given me all the DLCs
SquigM Jun 14, 2016 @ 9:01am
Forgot to say that the key was given to me to copy & paste, so you could give the key to someone else. Not sure about actually gifting it via Steam though

I'm on an Xbox One here. If i pre-order the game now, do i get Dishonored Definitive Edition NOW or do i get it on November 11th?

hello

sorry to ask but

In the store page it says
OWNED under definitive edition for D1

but I know i dont have that version
I just bought the DLCs and core game, yet it says its in my library

only thing in there just says dishonored
but under the DE sales it says ALREADY IN LIBRARY

when I go to buy it its saying i have to buy it and all the dlc that says "owned in library" all over again?

wahh

this is odd..
to get better gfx Id have to rebuy a game that I cannot buy because I own it??

elp?

Definitive edition is the GOTY edition for PS4/X1, it features a slightly enhanced 1080p30 maxed PC settings graphics, and includes all DLCs. In the Dishonored 2 steam store page, the "definitive edition" should mean GOTY edition for PC pre-orders.

definitive edition = core game with all dlc's there is no changes to it
The Nothing Man Jun 14, 2016 @ 1:52pm
GOTY = core game and dlc
DE = upgraded revamped gfx

to 1080 30fps
old version only went 1600x900

just fyi

so how do i tell other than now my game has the 1080 option in it..
i dont understand..

here is the post review

"In content terms, this is the same release as the Game of the Year Edition that came out almost two years ago. As far as presentation is concerned, Dishonored Definitive Edition certainly does look noticeably better than it did on PS3 and Xbox 360 – higher resolution, better textures, more vibrant colour - but it’s essentially on par with the original PC game running on half-decent gaming hardware."

im confused..
The Nothing Man Jun 14, 2016 @ 3:57pm
there is no goty edition anymore
so cross that out, the goty edition came out before the DE did.
goty didnt have the updated gfx, 1600x900 was maxed res

goty again according to bethesda is not the DE
bethesda is even selling D2 with the DE free bee, which includes UPDATED GFX for pc users that we didnt have before hence the 1080p

goty = core game + dlc thats it.
DE= core game + dlc + gfx update.. period.. look on bethesdas store page or google.

again im repeating as you dont understand to google

also GOTY title was only For xbox not goty for pc or PS so no its not called game of the year never made it to that tier in pc .

FlyMeToTheMoon Jun 14, 2016 @ 4:40pm
There is no difference between the "Definitive" and "GOTY" editions on PC. It's the same thing: the game + DLC. The PC version has been "definitive" since the day it was released.
