Dishonored

So the sword is in my right hand, and the gun is on my left... Yet...
I click the left mouse button to use my sword and my right mouse button to use my gun? Jeez. Nice control set up, they couldn't have made the character hold the sword on their left hand to correlate with pressing the left mouse button? That's pretty poor for an otherwise great game.

Use a 360 controller. And nobody holds a sword in their left hand. The controlls make sense, but a 360 controller works alot better.

Just change the controls ?

Nearly every game has the weapon on the right hand of the screen (COD, BF, Bioshock) people are naturally used to clicking the left mouse button, it just makes sense.

It's pretty sad if you can't see what I'm actually saying. An FPS will usually have just the one weapon (your gun) so it is irrelevant that you are pressing the left mouse button to use it. Yet when you have two weapons, one in each hand, it makes more sense that left click = left hand weapon and right click = right hand weapon rather than mixing them both up.

Then change it. There are rebindable keys for a reason. (I actually like the default, because I think of my sword as primary, which goes with left mouse, but plenty of people agree with you.)

the easiest thing in the world to do is to go into the options and change it.
it seems odd that you haven't got that far in your thinking yet.

naturally, it's easier to shoot the bad guys with your index finger if that is what you're accustomed to but you don't have to live with the default key set up if you don't want to, no one is forcing it on you.

you have nothing to complain about if the game is otherwise fine to you.
you should delete this thread because it's beyond pointless.

I use Left Mouse Button to hit with the sword and Right Mouse Button to block with the sword. Feels more natural to me.

I use Thumb Mouse Button 1 for secondary weapons/powers.

I finished the game and still get confused by the controls.

Oh wow, I never thought to go into options and change the key bindings, LOL I'm such a thicko!!!!

/sarcasm. This isn't about that. The point is, why should I have to do that by default? Why not just use common sense on part of the developers and assign the sword to the left hand and the gun to the right, thus correlating with the default key bindings? Logic not even once.

Didn't Skyrim do the same thing when dual weilding? Nobody complained about it there.. Then again, I haven't played Skaiwim in a long time so I wouldn't remember

First person games traditionally put the weapon in your right hand and bind attack to the left mouse button. The sword is your primary weapon, and the first one you pick up, so it gets left mouse by default. It made sense to me, though I still rebound the controls to block was RMB, attack was LMB, and power/gun was the left side button.

How are you not grasping the very simple point I'm making? If they wanted the sword to be left mouse button then why not put the sword in his left hand?

Some people here really don't think before they post.
