i remember doing the first and second one, never saw the third, but what did they actually do?

Knife of Dunwall: Captains of Industry - Second floor of the building just past the wall of light.

Knife of Dunwall: Emiment Domain - Inside the Timpsh Estate.

Don't forget the pearls in Delilah's Masterwork.
In all cases, the rune appears in front of you as soon as you complete the recipe. Make sure to do all the steps.
