So what is Samuel's problem?
He acts like a total punk at the end of the story where he drops you off at the last mission. I could understand if you acted like a total maurader, and killed civilians and stuff, but every mission I did had low chaos, and he still runs his mouth about how I did my job -- AS COURT ASSASSIN.

Just doesn't make sense story wise to me. It's not enough that I got the job done, but now the plebs are compaining about how I did it. Dam NPCs!

Kill him

Well, the ending was kind of meh. I guess I got the "good" ending? It says Emily did her best to be fair or whatever. I didn't even kill Havlock, just put the old sleeper hold on him.

If you pay attention he is quite opinionated the whole time with his two cents on everything. I think he feels you are now a monster, but the impact on Emily(most likely your daughter) is not given any weight by him.

I did kill the torturer guy though. Maybe that's why?

You were the Royal Protector, not an assassin before everything starts going wrong.

Also, he doesn't complain if you have a low chaos ending. On the contrary, he praises you for everything you have done. Either you played high chaos or you somehow got the ending through a bug.

there are actually THREE levels of Samuel response - the Low chaos Samuel is respectful & says basically "It was an honor." If you are in High Chaos, but not TOO far, he says he's disappointed in you. If you have been more extreme he will actually fire a shot to warn the guards you're coming, just as a ♥♥♥♥ You.

As far as I know this is the only way the game expresses a Low, "Moderate," and High Chaos in its responses to the player. OP, what happened during your ending? You should have gotten the darker High Chaos ending. If you got the Low Chaos ending then it sounds like a bug

I think I got the middle one then, from Samuel. He ran his mouth a little at me, but didn't fire a shot. I killed very few people actually during the run.

Emily was sassy when I rescued her, and said she'd make them all pay for what they did. But the ending narrator said she tried to be fair.

I guess I landed somewhere in the middle on all of it? Oh well!

I got that too when I did a High Chaos run. I only killed Guards, Assassins, and Overseers in the area that the target, or targets, were located. Civilians and Slackjaw's thugs were safe from my wrath.

Funny how Slackjaw is the ONLY NPC who keeps his word.
