I do know a surefire way to hide your sword though: holster your weapons and power, pick up a body, and use Blink. When you drop the body, your sword will not unsheath. I do this on most of my playthroughs, as the sword is too obstructive to my view compared to Dishonored 2.
I normally just hold E (my interact key) to put away everything; it increases your movement speed with it sheathed.
some keys may have 2 functions . Quick key press and Long key press.
1. Get both hands out by left or right clicking.
2. Hold your interact key (F by default) to put your weapons away.
3. While your the animation is playing, left click again to bring just your sword out.
This works with your magic/gadget hand too, so just press right click when putting your weapons away.
Edit: Just saw this was posted in 2018. What's it doing up here? I unintentionally necroed lol
Someone else necroed it about a week ago so that's probably why.
