How do you non-lethally take out the walkers on long legs
How do you silently take out the walkers on long legs? (I don't know what they are called. They remind of AT-ST walkers from Star Wars, except the pilot is openly visible and not shielded by a metal cage)

Do you still strangle them? If you try to jump up to them (assuming you can jump that high), they are moving at the same time.

There's no way to knock the Tall-Boys out, you need to stealth them on a clean hands run.

Good news: There's not very many of them in the game, and as long as you keep your distance it isn't that hard to sneak past them
Can you sleep-dart them?

No.

Their armour's too thick. It breaks all manner of crossbow bolts.

Yeah just avoid them if you want to retain ghost, which isn't too hard since they never look up so staying on high ground is good against them.

u need just to sneak pass them

Tall Boys can only be knocked out in the penultimate mission, but that's only if you do a side thing that can end with all guards in the map either getting knocked out or killed. Otherwise, they can not be knocked out and must be avoided in Clean Hands playthroughs.

OK, my Clean Hands achievement is now impossible, because I killed someone by throwing his sleeping body against the wall in the first mission.

So, how can I take out the Tall Boys lethally? I have seen in someone's playthrough, jumping to their height and slashing them with the saber.

I think you can drop-stab them, but not sure. The way I know for sure works is to snipe the whale oil containers they carry on their back. A bit tricky, as the containers are smaller than regular ones, and have limited LOS due to armor gaps, but doable.
Is there a sniper rifle in the game later, or do you do it with crossbow bolts?

I have two ways I kill them. My favourite is a drop kill from above. Timing can be tricky, but it's quick (save before you jump just in case). The other way is to toss a sticky grenade or a cooked grenade. This one is a bit riskier as it sometimes only injures them so you need to follow up with a bullet. There is a third way I use but only works near a watchtower - rewire the tower and it will bring them down (but it will also kill everyone else close by).

There are lots of other ways I have read about but these are the ones that work for me. I have tried shooting the tank but don't think I have ever once actually hit it in the right spot to trigger an explosion.

One of the more flashy ways of killing the tall-boys I know off, is to get a bit of distance and using wind blast throwing their own exploding bolts back in their faces.

A bit mana intensive, but man is it satisfying if you pull it off.

...Or you can use your own exploding bolts, of course, but not quite as big a cool factor on that.

Crossbow. Normal bolts work if you've got good aim skills (need a direct hit on the oil tank), if not, explosive bolts will work as long as they hit inside the armor on the correct side of the body. Neither will work if you hit the outside of the armor panels.
