Is the DLC worth it?
I'm considering buying this game but I am not sure if I should buy the definitive edition or the standard game.

Is the DLC a sequel or a prequel?
Do I need it to fully understand the story?
Are there jump scares in the game? I get scared easily but I will still buy the game I just want to be prepared ;)

YOu don't really need it to fully understand the story imo.

Knife of Dunwall and Brigmore witches are the "Daud" DLC. City Trials is just a set of minigames basically.

The Knife of Dunwall and the Brigmore Witches aren't really a prequel. They take place during Dishonored, and the two stories come together during the Flooded District.

I went with original Dishonored only game, spent there 100 hours and now buying the Definitve edition to get all the DLC´s, i would just say - go with Definitive edition, because you will end up buying it sooner or later.

Is the DLC a sequel or a prequel?

Depends how you understand, mainly they are uncovering sideline stories

Do I need it to fully understand the story?

No, you don´t, yet if you do, it will make the game even more exciting. You may end up like me, spending 100 hours with this game, trying to get a complete picture of the whole story and side storlines.

Are there jump scares in the game?

No, not really. But you have the nice chance to be the one who makes them on other.

Dauds DLC is split into two parts one being the Knife of Dunwall and the other being the Brigmore Witches the Dunwall City Trials are well as the name of the DLC dictates just a bunch of trials nothing really special but they do make you think when certain conditions are in place over your playstyle.
