Dishonored

Any chance of a dishonored movie some day?
Seriously...I noticed how assassins creed was getting a movie, and I coulden't help but think that this games story, and awesome charecters would make for a much better movie...I mean seriously, with the new release of the second, it would benefeit them in the end, by bringing awareness of the game to people who are less keen to games...Someone needs to make this happen...perhaps someone could create a petetition....Whatever the case....it needs to happen.

Any chance? Well, let's hope not.

Without any idea on how a Dishonored-movie would look like or who would play the characters, i don't have an opinion on that, because when you just talk about this in general, it's just another case of "It's good if it's done well".

I actually somewhat like Hitman from 2007. Doom from 2005 is obviously goofy, but a fun watch.

God, I hope not. At least not a "faithful" adaptation.

This game's main cast is one of its biggest weaknesses. They do not need more emphasis.

Would it be possible to make a good movie out of the franchise? yes, of course, you can make a good movie out of damn near anything, and I would love to see one set in The Isles, there is so much good material available. Is it likely to happen given the current climate and the way the marketing team has been handling the games? no.

My reasoning for saying "No." is that videogame movies end up badly almost always. A videogame is a game and meant to be played. You have control over it. When it's made into a movie that control is lost.

Video game movies don't turn out good at all. See: Super Mario Brothers

Seriously....I personally love prince of persia sands of time movie...I thought that ♥♥♥♥ was awesom...and didn't silent hill game come before movie? Caus lots of people love those movies as well...Now I haven't seen warcraft yet, but I have heard good things about it from people who I know who watched it. And this one I can see people disagreeing with, but Hitman was another great movie. My point is, video game movies have seen lots of success...now I may be wrong, but if I remember correctly, didn't resident evil game coem before the movie? I don't know. And a lot of people don't want to have to control and play a video game, to see the story...I mean ♥♥♥♥, isn't that part of the reason lets plays exist? not everyone wants to play a game to enjoy the story.

HEY another person who (kinda?) liked hitman. And I suppose you have a point...But the same could have been said for the dishonored 2 game. The if it is done well part...not the who is playing the charecters part....obviously.

But...what about the assassins creed movie guys? I mean ♥♥♥♥, it is hard not to be excited for that...that movie looks awesome.

not enough interest from the public, they are currently editing Assasin's Creed movie, i dont see it making any money, trash cast, trash re-hashed story, thats the beauty of playing the game, thats the best version of the "story" your gonna see, YOU ARE THE MAIN CHARACTER, the only time this works is when the movie come before the games, like Tron

It would be a success if Meryl Streep played Corvo, or Danny Devito. Christopher Walken could play Granny Rags!

They shouldn't be fined. They should just be told "No, I don't like that."

The age of words is coming to an end, friend, no longer can we rely upon the power of no, even harsh language barely commands the respect it once did! No, I fear we are at a time where one's dissatisfaction can only be made obvious by hitting your foe on the nose with a rolled-up newspaper - similar to how the working class train a new puppy.

We already got action like movie setpieces from the Youtube community. So why do we even need a movie.

Because a movie - a well made one, anyway - would bring a HUGE amount of attention back on this franchise, and hopefully toward the publisher to say "oh hey you like that? SINGLE PLAYER STEALTH GAME?! have more!"

I think it would partially depend on the director. Michael Bay or Quentin Tarantino MIGHT work, if we're talking about a High-Chaos run. Tarantino's movies generally have a high body count, and Bay has a reputation for lots of explosions, which would fit in well with a High-Chaos run. Uwe Boll? No, no, no. Too many videogame franchises have had their plots ruined when he directed the movie versions.

Personally, I would want to see Vin Diesel as Corvo. Yeah, first glance of him as Corvo would be somewhat strange, but the guy is ONE OF US! I can easily see him in the role. Besides, he's played characters with a strong protective attitude towards kids before (Richard B. Riddick) and that could easily translate into his attitudes towards Lady Emily.
