Dishonored
Non-lethal takedowns
Are there any non-lethal takedowns besides sneaking up and choking or sleep darts?

It's not tho... You have blink and you can sneak past most all. :/

It doesn't work often for me since they're in large groups

Patience is the key. Just wait for them to disperse. Also, be very observant of all possible routes you could take and try to map them out in your head. Stay very high up and your chances of detection are minimal. once you get the hang of the stealth mechanics, it's super easy to sneak past everyone.

The DLCs have other instruments like choke dust and stun mines. The main game only has sleep darts and sneaking behind and choking out.

also, how do you quick save?

F5 is the quick save key by default.

Don't forget to use distractions to your advantage. Find bottles or other items sitting around and throw them to make one or more guards investigate.

Also don't forget: don't leave bodies on rooftops or near water where they may fall in. That'll kill them if you're not careful. Also near glass.

when do you get to tallboys?

The Boyle Party has those first. Also if you have the dlc, the Dunwall Trials has the back alley fight which has them and they're a LOT of fun to fight. You don't HAVE to kill them and you cannot nonlethal them. They will explode if they are hit with sleep darts when they fall down. (as far as I know, and I've hit a lot of them)

you can sleep dart hounds if you want to be completely non-lethal but they don't count towards you kill stats (though they can detect you).

so are windblast and devouring swarm useful for nonleathal playthroughs?

Not imo. Most useful is Blink and if you're very new and want easy mode, Dark Vision.
