Can't get Sokolov Painting #3 on The Flooded District
[Potential spoilers]

Hey, so I was trying to get all of the Sokolov Paintings on my playthrough and just finished "The Flooded District" but only had 2/3 paintings, which confused me a little bit because I'm pretty meticulous about exploring everywhere.

Anyway, after some research I found that the painting I was missing was located in a cave off to the side of the start of the sewers. Apparently the main gate in the sewers is supposed to be locked and there's meant to be a civ that directs you down a passage where Slackjaw and Granny Rags (?) are located. But for me the gate was unlocked, the guy wasn't there and the passage was blocked, apparently because I didn't complete a sidequest or something.

Basically, my question is whether there is another way that I can get into this area and get this painting? Or am I out of luck... :goblin:

I suspect (from your question mark) that you didn't visit Granny Rags in M2. You have to interact with her for the confrontation between her and Slackjaw to happen for you (and that section of M7 to be open). If you look at your stats for M2 how many runes did you get?

Yeah, I think you're right. I just had a look on the wiki about the interaction with Granny Rags I was supposed to have before and I don't remember it, so I guess I must've missed it somehow :(

So, you don't think there's any other way I can get into this area? (Without going back and redoing mission 2 :P)

AFAIK, there isn't a way into that section without interacting with granny in M2 (but i'm a get every rune type of guy and I almost never miss her runes). This is a situation where you can go back to M2 and playthrough again or just skip it and get the art dealer achievement on another playthrough. Granny is creepy and pretty evil but a source of three runes (two in M2 and one in M7) that you can't get without speaking to her (there is another rune in her Outsider shrine in M2 that you can get without speaking with her (you can see it with the heart) so I left that one out).

Bugger, that's a bit of a pain, well thanks for your help anyway :thumb:

You can just use Steam Achievement Unlocker. If you've gone through all the trouble to get all the Sokolov Paintings and you missed one that you did back in Mission 2, it wouldn't hurt a bit just to cheat your way for that achievement only right?

I won't speak for others here but, as useless as Steam Achievement are (no Gamer Score, etc.), I'd at least like to derive some satisfaction by earning them the honest way.

Starting from Mission 2 and completing everything from scratch is just insane. No way would I do that. The satisfaction you get is extremely small anyways (from my experience) unless you are doing a Clean Hands/Ghost/Shadow run. That part was satisfying where you are basically looking at all your missions and see the ticks on No One Killed and No Guards Alerted.

This 100%; I will never use steam achievement manager. Doesn't matter the situation, it's just a personal thing.

There's a good chance I'll eventually do another playthrough of this game anyway, so I can get the art dealer achievement (plus a bunch of others I've missed) another time.
