Dishonored

Just finished Knife Of Dunwall, is Brigmore Witches better?
All i've heard is the DLC for dishonored is amazing and better than the main game. Knife of Dunwall was just awful, im not sure why. That last misson was so annoying for low chaos. Is brigmore any better? Replayed dishonored 1 before 2 as I last played it on release way back when, wondering if the 2nd dlc is worth it or refund it.

Brigmore Witches sets up the story for Dishonored 2, but the last mission is just as much as a pain in the butt for low chaos as the Knife of Dunwall.

What were the issues you had with it? I loved both (and I know I'm not alone, the most ccmmon advice about the DLC here is "get it" or "try the main game and if you liked that get it"), so I'm maybe not the best person to ask, but if you can try to figure out what was bothering you I can maybe give you an idea if it's more of the same. Is it a gameplay problem or a writing problem? Where were you feeling frustrated?

if you were mainly looking to get all the context for D2, you have most of what you need if you finished KoD. What's left is either really obvious stuff that you'll be told straight-up in D2 or self-contained subplots. So you could skip right there, if it turns out to not be your thing.

What are you on about, it's one of the easiest missions for ghost/nonlethal

I suppose that is personal opinion then. I found the Brigmore Manor a pain in the butt to stealth through, and also a pain for non-lethal (grave hounds, witches, Delilah's statues, etc)

Sneaking around the manor was a lot of fun for me, just did it again last night in fact.

The story that's present is very, very important for the sequel. If there's something you don't like about it, that's really personal taste.

I honestly don't know why I disliked it so much. Just didn't feel as open or well made as the base game for me. I'm thinking back to playing the DLC and if im honest I think it was a bit bugged for me, the Guards and Overseers were spotting me at crazy distance and heard everything I did, or maybe the difficulty is ramped up from the base game in a big way. I'm going to do brigmore witches and hope it was just the first dlc i didnt like. Could always been the hype it had too, maybe i expected more lol.

I just finished a Daud run on the hardest level, and had no trouble sneaking around and taking guards out without them seeing me, so... no idea what you were doing.

Maybe you'd equipped a corrupted rune that made you easier to spot?

Corrupt Bone Charms (Bone Charms that are more powerful then regular Bone Charms but also have a penalty) are introduced in Brigmore Witches. And one will make you easier to spot as a penalty if Daud has it equipped, but it isn't in the Knife of Dunwall.

In my personal opinion the final Knife of Dunwall level (The Surge) is the worst DLC level. However, the final level of The Brigmore Witches is probably the best level in either the base game or the DLC. (I have trouble ranking them exactly, but my top four are Delilah's Masterwork, The Dead Eels, Return to Dunwall Tower, and Lady Boyle's Last Party, and two of those are in The Brigmore Witches.) I can't guarantee you'll feel the same as me, but I'd encourage you to play.
On the more general question of whether the DLC is better than the base game, I would give a qualified yes. The DLC is a bit buggier (I still don't know how the head overseer in The Surge died that one time, for example), mostly lacks the ability to wander around your base between levels, and has slightly smaller levels. On the positive side, it has better guard placement, Daud's more powerful blink, interesting and challenging new enemies, more nonlethal equipment, and a much better climax and ending.

I started brigmore witches and I am loving it. I honestly think my game bugged and i got caught constantly as this one feels good. Don't mind getting caught when it's my own fault. Up to the manor on brigmore and can't wait to do it tomoz.

Glad you're enjoying it.
