Whalers in House of Pleasure - How Would Corvo know?
Whenever I play the game I always wonder how Corvo canonically would have dealt with things.

However in the house of pleasure there is no way of Corvo knowing about the whalers that ambush you until it is too late unless you have played the level before. There are no notes or clues about them being there and they are quite well hidden.

We know that Low Chaos Corvo is canon but he does seem to kill whalers when he has to such as the ones in the intro who we see him killing from Daud's point of view in knife of dunwall so how do you think he would deal with this situation?

When playing a truly stealth style, and taking the time to carefully observe (recon) areas ahead, you should easily notice them. For example, when approaching from the wall of light area, where thugs have Griff trapped, you can see the whaler in the window of the apartment across the way. This should give you reason for pause.

But, if you're at all impatient, then yes, they very easily go unnoticed. Especially the fourth one on the roof next to Granny's apartment building.

Did you ever hear of the term logic fallacy? Straw man? That's not Corvo.

The fourth rarely shows up unless you get fully detected by one or more of the others, Where I really got shocked by an extra whaler was in the flooded district in the first building where you are being held. I was playing flesh & steel and decided my only way was to go full out, got one, the other saw me and then a third (who was likely watching from the rooftops across the street or something) showed up apparently that was the only time I had made enough noise to draw him in.

I'm not too sure what you mean. That is Corvo as you can see from 30 seconds onwards here:-

I think some of them spawn from nowhere only when you are detected.

Sorry ... beg to differ. The fourth one is always there, for me. I can't recall a time that he wasn't there. But, he doesn't appear until after you deal with the Pendleton's, one way or the other.

Ok, now THAT's a first for me. I've never had that happen, although I've also never went hand-2-hand with them to make noise enough to draw attention. Interesting. I'll have to try that sometime.

Oh... and he's always been there whether I was detected or not.
