lol, try read before use =) keys for BOX-game (cd-dvd disk) - not steam-keys

Why not?

If you bought a copy of a game - IMHO, that key should activate it up on every PC service. That's especially in case other versions get dropped and are no-longer updated/supported officially; DRM gets in the way and causes issues w/ the game working in other versions; and who knows what other kinda non-sense can occur to cause issues of any kind.

GOG actually gives out Original Soundtracks in FLAC + MP3 format for the entire STALKER series. GOG also gives extra goodies out. So, there's also that.

Also, there's also the NO-DRM thing GOG is known for.

I love STALKER series - and glad to have it anywhere I can get it.
I have SoC + Clear Sky from Retail on Discs, Steam + GOG now (Retail keys activated up on GOG); Clear Sky DRM-FREE on Gamersgate; and CoP from GameStop Impulse + GOG now (Impulse key activated up on GOG).

1. why not? its free =)
2. problems with steam - steam can block game for country / your acc can be stolen or banned / ddos attack for steam-servers etc.
3. u can dl game installer from gog and burn dvd or just save on hd

My steam key didn't work on gog.com, unfortunately :(

I own Clear Sky and Call of Pripyat on steam, both of those CD keys worked on GOG no issues. I have a retail copy of SoC around here somewhere, haven't tried it yet but would assume it will work.

If you have a legit key it should work. If you're trying to acquire keys in..."creative" ways, (which it sounds like more than a few people in this thread might be doing), you probably shouldn't complain about it not working.

I own Clear Sky and Shadow on Chernobyl on steam, both of those CD keys DIDN'T work on GOG.

My assumption is steam cd keys work (or don't work) pretty random unless you are redeeming cd keys from a retail, boxed copies.

Unlucky here, but not desperate enough to try any of those "creative" ways mentioned above.

I'm trying to redeem my legal Clear Sky key which is given by Steam, even http://stalker-game.com/cdkey/ have no problem to recognise it.
