Can't beat Professional on a New Game to save my life.
I have the Chicago Sweeper and the Chicken Hat. I can reliably do the door skips. I have guides I follow to get infinite ammo by Chapter 7 so I can run for that S+ rank and get the Cat Ears. I've got 60 hours on the game and 38 years of gaming experience under my belt.

And I can't get out of the Pueblo fight in Professional, even with all of that. There's no reliable guide for running from enemies and herding them, so I have to fight. I watch what other people do to survive this fight. My aim is fine. I stick and move. I do everything you're supposed to do, and I just can't survive.

It's definitely a skill issue. I'm ready to pay $5 for that content, now.

You can skip the village fight by shooting the church bell, there's plenty of videos on YouTube on how to do it
Nah, that's only on NG+

Working on my fresh professional S+ish run now, and I gotta say, I'm being tested. The challenge is real. Just got past the chainsaw sisters. Between that and the cabin fight, I wanted to rip my hair out after so many reloads.

The cabin fight was definitely rough. With low shotgun ammo it's a nightmare. I managed with red hp and 3 spare pistol shots, always kicking down ladders at the end. I had super luck with the loot until the sister fight tho gettin some heals and crafting mats. With 2 flashbangs+knife and some riot gun shots the sisters are dead, key here is getting the riot gun !

The advice somewhere with the granades to spam knife attacks for the miniboss dog also helped me.

Believe in yourself and you will get through it.

Maybe try going for a full assisted auto save run until you reach end of game where you have to save clear save file leaving you with 14 saves does anyone know if this works?

Climb the old tower all the way to the top but do not move when u up. Stand close to ladder and just cheese them enemies there they will fall down 1 by 1.

I managed to get my Cat Ears. Came back for a Hand Cannon run, using Cat Ears, and took another nine tries to beat the village and three for cabin,

Even with infinite ammo, these fights are just too hard for me. I've tried any number of strats, but can't survive consistently.

For folks saying to skip Savage Mutt: I need to do Savage Mutt (only beat it once on Pro, can't repeat it) to get the Spinels for the exclusive upgrade for the Sweeper to make the rest of the game doable. I am nowhere near good enough to attempt this as a clean run without bonus weapons. I can still get an S+, and did this for Hardcore, using the Sweeper with infinite ammo to carry me most of the way. If I don't do this, I have to do Water Hall without a crutch, which is not technically possible for me.

From what I'm seeing, Professional in re4 is like Village of Shadows: tuned to only be reasonable on NG+++++. Going in fresh, even trying to cheese it with bonus weapons and bonus costumes with perks, is meant to only be done by a few people. If you don't take the exact correct upgrades that the game expects you to take, you can't win. There is only one way to play it, so I don't know how the guy who made this guide I'm using managed it.
This is why you always upgrade the M1 rifle first. It makes quick work out of any plaga because it deals 3X the damage against them.
It's easily the most viable weapon in the game, not to mention the fact that it pierces enemies, so i would recommend you get the exclusive for it first, the sweeper is only good at close range and if you're planning on doing a sweeper only run then you're in for some torturous time on the Island especially.
Don't forget to get the scope after completing the savage mutt request.

Try to position yourself more methodically on the map, and always keep moving if you find yourself in an area where there is no corner to secure yourself against, and where enemies spawn from all of the corners of the map. If you manage to lure enemies into a corridor where you cannot be flanked from the back and shot at with crossbows then it's ideal, otherwise always keep moving around the map.

No Ashley Armor
No NG+
No Bonus Weapons
No Infinite Ammo
Professional Difficulty

So do a lot of what he does, except get the 30 spinals for tommy gun. I also gather a bunch of treasure so I can rocket Salazar, Krauser, and Saddler.

The island is the easiest with the tommy gun. By that point you've got so many healing items. Instead it's the water room and those damn crossbowman. Keeping a sniper just for them and the rocketmen on the island might not be a bad idea though.

The second you have to stop and reload, they rush up the corridor at 65mph and grab you, and at that stage in the game, nothing reloads fast enough to stop it. Corridor has never worked for me. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.

Do you use the rifle in these cases?
It pierces enemies and deals a lot of damage, upgrade it first of course, along with the knife.
Ignore the pistol and shotgun until you get to the castle.

Are you talking the base rifle?
