It's actually pretty incredible when you are able to appreciate immersive games, with like OP said, guns that feel like guns, and characters that move like they actually weigh what they would IRL.

Probably not so much when you're the type who needs the opposite, ie goofy physics and characters that move like weight and momentum aren't a thing.

i guess if you like realism but i think it hurts the overall gameplay experience, like missing shots because enemys are over animated or being stumbled multiple times into death.

i can definitely see that and with so many foes it can be a bit overwhelming, but i usually keep things in the context of what im playing! if the game was a lot faster paced like a normal third person shooter i'd definitely feel a bit bleugh that its so difficult to get shots to snap quick, but even tho this is more action oriented i still feel as if this is a survival horror, so having things not be perfect from the get go feels more appropriate for me? like i'd want to have things feel a bit more, well, chunky to shoot in a game with ammo management and a darker more horrific atmosphere!

its not the same sort of solution but there are some mods on like nexus that can help alleviate some of the frustrations from the aiming, stuff like no need to wait for the crosshair to fully squeeze down to get a perfect shot, ect. may be worth a look into?

That weapon sway still is one of the worst things they could have done. Thats the reason why some bullets just dont hit even if you aimed perfectly.

It's drunken Leon gameplay. I mean I overall like it but damn. They really tried to hard with the realism.

Again, if you enjoy immersive games, It really really doesn't.

This is actual peak gameplay to us. It can literally not get any better, and removing that stuff you don't like would actually feel like a gigantic downgrade.

Realism belongs to games like Red Dead Redemption 2. Not arcade action shooters like RE4-6. While it might be peak gameplay to you it is somewhat out of place here.

yep thats the main difference with old re4 where you had like precision aim but at the cost of standing still.
mhhhh :(

Well.. the OG also has weapon sway.. but it's alright there since it has no bloom and it's not as bad.. you hit where the laser points. But both of these, bloom and sway at the same time.. only makes it feel bad sometimes. These wtf moments dont feel good when that one clown bullet gets you killed.

I mean look at that drunken swaying when you stand still and point a gun at something. It's ridiculous lol. Again.. I prefer the overall gameplay of this one compared to the far to easy moment to moment gameplay of the OG. But the older this game gets .. the more and more I dislike certain details that make this game worse.

I wonder how many people (including me) are so really good in this game at hitting their targets when there are some whining about aiming being difficult. Is this like a controller thing issue or something? Maybe the issue is not the aiming but you using a bleeping controller in this game.

Nobody said anything about aiming being difficult. It not difficult when the game robs you out of perfeclty aimed shots. There is enough footage of people explaining and showing that. If the shot doesnt hit your target when the crosshair is perfectly aimed at it.. it's the rng weapon sway that robbed you out of that hit.

it's not the crosshair or laser that moves around to much, it's fine. It's the gun itself. How Leon swings it like he is drunk. Thats the factor that determines if you actually hit where you aimed or not.

Has nothing to do with skill. It's just rng.

That is not what I noticed. I noticed the game being forgiving with aiming. There were many cases where I felt that it should not have hit the target but it still hit the target. I am even sniping with a handgun in this game at really distant targets and still hitting them.

The movements are so fluid you can really feel the difference and how much Leon has changed/trained since RE2 as his first time as a rookie cop with tank controls. As a fan for both games i can totally appreciate that.

Sway was in the original and arguably was even worse. On mouse and keyboard you effictively eliminate any sway since you can easily correct it with a mouse.

What makes your bullets not hitting your crosshair is bullet spread or bullet inaccuracy. I agree they went overboard with all these complicated and frankly unneaded mechanics in a game like RE4, but I sorta can see what they wanted to do - it's a balancing act. Each weapon has different sway/spread/accuracy and it's all an overall gunplay balance of the game, and part of it is figuring what gun suits your playstyle more.

There's a recent mod which is an absolute must have for RE4 called Dynamic Weapon Profiles. With it you have virtually full control over the whole gunplay in the game. It's on Nexus mods, heavily recommended.
