Is the Punisher worth getting?

Yes, Its like a cheaper version of the Red9, The Red9 is still somewhat better but it's upgrades get pretty costly and without enough of them It's annoying to use

I tried it, and I think it's not worth it. Better wait until you can get Matiltda instead. Or even better - there's a free Red 9 on the lake.

I'm sure it's decent, but I didn't regret going with the Red9 instead. It's really quite a beast when fully upgraded.

I haven't looked at the actual conversion value, but it seems like you get a majority of the money you spend on upgrading a weapon when you sell it. It's not a terrible idea to upgrade something like the punisher early, and then swap it out for the Red9, or just doing this with any of the weapons for that matter.

I used it as my main pistol, I don't know how the fully upgraded default pistol compares, but the Punisher is pretty good.

Firepower is firepower. For penetration I have a rifle, which does a better job at penetrating.

Sadly just as in the original it just can't hold a candle to any of the other pistol options. Honestly one of the best options in your repertoire is Leon's starting pistol. The exclusive upgrade on it causes it to pop heads consistently enough that its ammo economy stays as high as the red9's and blacktail's even though they offer superior per shot damage. A critical % headshot is an instant kill on any non boss enemy and won't trigger a plagas mutation.

I love the punisher, I love the FN five seven. It sucks in re4 and re4 remake.

There's an argument to be made for using it when you arrive at act 2 specifically for certain enemy types that create......problems between you and just shooting their weak fleshy bits. I used it for a bit to test it, but the gun flatout can't compare to any of your other pistol choices in the slightest. People have done the numbers on the original version of the guns, but the numbers seem fairly consistent from what I've been able to dig up so far. The starting handgun teeters between, " ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I just popped 4 in a row with 1 shot each " and " Dear god I've hit him 6 times. " So red9 is going to feel the best and most consistent. Blacktail is just super spammy and not as stable. Shame we have to use these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crosshairs instead of the lasers available to your first two pistols.

i think its definitly btter than the starter until you get the exclusive skilsl, the starter gets like 5xcrit while the punisher gets more penatration.

i also think the red 9 is better, its higher damage and its exclusive is even more damage sure its slower to shoot/slower reload but those dont matter if you kill them before they get to close to you. , only downside is that it needs a stock which takes up inventory space

This is going to be a rare opinion, but I am playing Hardcore mode and the Punisher's penetration ability has saved my ass so many times. Being able to CC multiple enemies at once in Hardcore mode was a blessing. Certainly lacks in damage, but the effect us very useful. In the OG RE4 I always stuck with the Punisher till I got the Blacktail. I imagine if I was playing on standard the Punisher would be even more OP.

If you penetrate about everything, you'll end up with a lot of child support

Side note to this is that in the original you get the punisher for free and it comes with its first firepower upgrade free if you hit all the medallions, this isn't the case in the remake. So it starts off about 20% weaker than the starting pistol will be when it becomes available if you've upgraded the firepower on it.
