FYI: A first version of the RE framework is available for RE4R and allows further tweaking of the fov among other things, https://github.com/praydog/REFramework/releases/tag/v1.4
It did yes. As others have said, make sure you're in Full Screen mode and not Windowed (which the demo defaults too), you should then be able to choose your desired resolution.

how wide do you want it to be you got them super ultrawides samsungs?
but yes especially on those monitors nearly anything ive seen on those are stretched
locally a store keeps demo-ing these on a xbox one s consoles..stretching it like mad
