I loved it BUT no proper ultrawide support?
I dont know if capcom doesnt seem to understand ultrawide users

I complained about RE7 not having ultrawide support they said the engine cant do it (wrong cause RE2-3 and RE8 could do it)

(EDIT: I tried again then i could select 3440x1440... weird) now i upgraded my monitor from 2560x1080 to 3440x1440

the game only gives me the option for 2560x1080.. i know its the demo but what the hell?

Hope this is something addressed in the final product if not patched later at least. I know we not close to 5% of users or anything but its a hell of a experience especially on 34"

Otherwise the game it self looks great some details look little lowkey for a 2023 game compared to RE3 remake i donno ill have to replay it to see iit

Gameplay nothing really changed by the looks of it QC is there during combat with knives
the areas explored seem bigger that is a plus and looking forward to that.

demo i think skips cutscenes might of been me
i think controller still works best on these games kb+ms kinda sucky using a dark core and set the dpi to faster settings during in game cause man it was slow.

crouching on PC shouldnt be E... at all its very awkward should be C or crtl dont you think?

on a RX7900XT it performed well with Ray Tracing i got about 100-110 frames i am bottle necked by the 5600x cpu ill upgrade that later stage of course but otherwise runs well i know i heard the GPU go and there was a bit of a dip in performance for a second again could be demo and i had FS2020 in the background open (downloading updates)

Otherwise looking forward to this and already preordered when that was available.

- From a Long time fan since the start PS CV next please

3440x1440 here no problem at all, only cutscenes have black bars. but modder will fix that too.

No issues with ultrawide here either. Played through at 3440x1440, no problem at all.

so the option for 3440x1440 came up?

works great on 15360x4320

@OP, did you switch to fullscreen-mode in the graphics menu? My game started in window-mode and didn't allow switching to the correct resolution (5120 x 1440). After switching to fullscreen-mode, the resolution was available in the menu.

FYI: A first version of the RE framework is available for RE4R and allows further tweaking of the fov among other things, https://github.com/praydog/REFramework/releases/tag/v1.4

It did yes. As others have said, make sure you're in Full Screen mode and not Windowed (which the demo defaults too), you should then be able to choose your desired resolution.

Finding a game with proper ultrawide support is a rarity, this is not one of em. All you need to do is widen the FOV and maybe reduce the quality of the extended parts. Instead, most games just zoom way in, stretch the whole frame (or just the edges) or takes a normal frame and cuts out the top and bottom. I have an ultrawide and can not (will not) play ultrawide with this, the reduced FOV is not worth it.

I agree that it is disappointing to still see games not supporting 32:9 out of the box. On the other hand, it is always *very* easy to fix. Tools like flawlesswidescreen, unreal engine unlocker or (in case of RE4R) a mod (RE framework) provide easy solutions that only take a few minutes to apply.

No, it doesn't. Stop spreading false informations. In 32:9 the camera is absurdly zoomed in and glued to Leon's back. Unplayable in this state.
