Deluxe edition is completely worthless.
It cost 10$ more and you get nothing special. What do you think? Do you agree with me?

you just described every deluxe edition for every game
Koby Feb 18, 2023 @ 9:23am
¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯ I pre-ordered the Deluxe on sale for $48.

I disagree.

Leon & Ashley Costumes: 'Casual'
Leon & Ashley Costumes: 'Romantic'
Leon Costume & Filter: 'Hero'
Leon Costume & Filter: 'Villain'
Leon Accessory: 'Sunglasses (Sporty)'
Deluxe Weapon: 'Sentinel Nine'
Deluxe Weapon: 'Skull Shaker'
'Original Ver.' Soundtrack Swap
Treasure Map: Expansion

You get 6 additional costumes between you and Ashley. 2 filter modes, 2 additional weapons, an accessory, THE ORIGINAL SOUNDTRACK, and a treasure map expansion. Not only that, but if you pre-order you get:

Attaché Case: 'Gold'
Attaché Case: 'Classic'
Charm: 'Handgun Ammo'
Charm: 'Green Herb'

2 cases and 2 weapon charms with added game effects.

Honestly, for 10$? That's honestly a lot of content and easily the most content that's ever come with a RE deluxe edition.
Mira-Valkyrie Feb 18, 2023 @ 11:19am
aren't you able to upgrade to the deluxe at a later date after you purchase the base game? I'm on the fence for the deluxe and kind of curious. The costumes might make ng+ fun to go through.

The additions are pretty worthless.

The costumes should have been in the base game that you get to unlock like in the original.

The gun accessory is just dumb, they did the same thing for RE8 and I don't get it, who really wants a dumb dingy thing on your hand gun, you won't even notice it in a 3rd person game anyway.

The attache case stuff is so basic, asking money for it is laughable, it wouldn't even be worth 50 cents on its own.

The original soundtrack again should have been an unlockable.

If they really wanted to milk money out of a remake they could add stuff to Mercenaries mode, something like Capcom cameo characters.

Either way screw people that defend this crap.

Yeah its a good amount of content for $10. AAA remake game with a lot of bonus features plus the base game. I would say the deluxe is worth it if you are a big re4 fan easily

The DLC will be sold separately from launch too, so you should be able to just pick the pieces you want.

Man, I get your point but I do not agree with it. I have just replayed the original of RE4 and I think this all should have been part of the game. It could have been reward for completing the game just like in the original. Treasure map expansion is a bit like an exp. boost in ubi games, so you can get more treasures and sell them. Charms are nonsense in my eyes. Those filters add nothing. I would rather see some small stories like in RE2 ( Kendo/Hunk story - but real story this time - did not like the what if scenarios) for that price.

In 2004 things were different. Games were mostly released as-is and not split into normal/Deluxe/Ultimate editions which is the norm for AAA titles now. Frankly they are an excellent way to squeeze a little more money from the customer and are rarely worth the extra money
By the way the charms provide passive bonuses.

I wonder if you realize Gamecube released first. We all had to spend ANOTHER 40$ for the Ps2 version just to get seperate ways.

I heard about it although my entry to the RE4 was with pc version of the game.

how do we know there won't be unlock-able outfits in the game?

There will be unlockable outfits, but I do not think that it will be the same skins you can get in deluxe edition.
solaris32 Feb 19, 2023 @ 1:59am
I bought the deluxe because I'm a simp for RE4 and I also want those costumes.
