Game wont go past the loading screen on startup
I bought the Red Faction:Guerrilla Steam Edition the other day and has not been able to load past the loading screen, it just loads forever and in task manager appears as "Not Responding". My PC specs are good enough to be able to run this:

(Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2100 CPU @ 3.10GHz, Video Card NVIDIA GeForce GT 240, Memory 8.2 GB, Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit)

I have tried all the websites i can and have still not found a solution.
Help is greatly appreaciated as i had this game on Xbox and love it.
Thank you.

I'm having the same issue. Tried the beta and it won't even load.

I installed the game on my system drive (:C) and it loaded fine. It's actually kind of fun.

FarCry 3 and Just Cause 2 act the same way.
Nershra Dec 4, 2014 @ 2:45pm
is there another solution ? I can't install it on my system drive.

I'm having the same issue. If I am forced to install on my C: drive honeslty I'd rather get a refund. What a waste of time. That really pissed me off about Far Cry 3 and is why I don't buy uPlay games anymore. Some people *who would have guessed* use external harddrives.

It's an External HDD issue??? REALLY??? WTH, I have an External 3 TB HDD and everyone of my games runs except this one.. If this is true I am going to be beyond P.O'ed At Lord GABEN for allowing this game to go for sale...

Wait! If the problem can be really nailed down to the game being installed on an external HDD we will of course fix this.

How did you guys not consider this possibility in the beta?? I just want to PLAY YOUR GAME.. Not have to be on these forums complaining.. I really don't like having to discuss issues w/ games, after all, aren't we the PC MASTER RACE??

But this isn't the only game which have this problem unfortunately. Almost all my uplay games don't work in my laptop 'cause of that. I think (but I'm not sur), this is the first game which doesn't work and doesn't crash, just stuck in this loading screen. And the first game which doesn't use uplay.

EDIT : Actually, I forgot Just Cause 2 which is not a an uplay game but it doesn't work until I installed on my system drive (4Gb, I had this place on my ssd but not for RFG).

Well until this Problem is "Fixed" I guess I'll have to play my PS4 games which DON'T freeze when I launch them.... PS4 Master Race.. :-P
Mayor Dec 4, 2014 @ 5:10pm
Nershra is right with this about Uplay. On launch I had to redownload Far Cry again just to play. Ugh.
I'll wait it out though like the dev asked. For a while. . My HDD is a seagate I think 1.5TB or something, a common drive I bought at the store.

Also: In case just for info: I had a GFWL version installed once (non-steam) an old CD or something but has since been uninstalled and I was given some warning but I clicked it away and haven't been able to see it again. I tried deleting all the "my Documents" and saves to wipe it clean but still no help. Though I am fairly sure it is an issue with my HDD since I had a similar problem with Far Cry 3 and when installed on my C: drive after hours of troubleshooting it just worked fine.

This is definetly a problem due to it being installed on an external hard drive, because it does work when installed on my C: drive but i shouldn't have to install it to this if i dont want to, shouldn't have to spend hours looking on forums for a solution.
