You live in a dreamland. They will never run out of money, especially right now. People that have outgrown mainstream games are flocking toward more serious titles, just like Sins. We may see, probably, a remasterd (64bit) version, than Sins2 by update 2.0. 4 more updates until then. Give or take by the end of 2023.

sadly we won't see a sequel, a garbage British game company sued them over the word "rebellion"

If you insist on patching this though then maybe fix the way npc factions perceive fog of war or balance superweapons, I'm not sure how it is for PvP but in PvE it is terrible. They seem to just be able to fire them from anywhere at any planet even if they have no direct view of your planets/solar system. Also pirates tend to be spammed to only one player by the npcs, I would expect it to be more random.

Superweapon can fire at any planete you already scouted. Superweapon are made for this in all game.
As for pirate only the player with the higtest prime get to be attacked, so if you never put any money on IA and are not in last position for the score the IA will focus you as you dont use your money on them.

The fact you guys are stull updating this game is fantastic. Im still hoping to get a sequel, or maybe an engine overhall
