Actually multiplayer is fairly fast for a game this vast, 5v5 games are usually done in around an hour.
Uprising, if you want a multiplayer strategy game that is more about strategy than APM, Sins is a pretty good choice. However multiplayer is not the focus of the game, and yes it doesn't have especially high player counts. If competitive multiplayer is the most important thing for you Wargames is probably more your thing, they basically designed it as a multiplayer game.
Multiplayer was put into this game to get some quick cash into stardock's pocket
basically in this game the ships look like color dots...that sit and shoot at other colored dots
It is a flash game clone... with a complex click fest hud to build up rocks to make more dots...to attack more dots.
don't waste your money
The above is an opinion, nothing more. Personally, I love the game!
yep that is true there is a race called vasari who have big early game advantage and just pure imbalanced because they can just sneak in and build a mobile starbase which can just rape your base and while you are trying to get back to your capital and there is no EU pvp server so espect lag more the usual
truth be told i regret buying this game
Yes, but it is typically not done in multiplayer (unless with friends). Takes too long and the maps tend to be more unbalanced.
Sounds like AI War where all the ships are small 2D icons. So when you play most of what you see is 1000s of tiny 2D ship shooting dots at each other. Of coursethe game is awsome for other reasons which is the same for all RTS. RTSes must always give up on making the game look it's best because there's too much to show and more importent things to do.
As for multiplayer, don't do more than one star system if you want it to only take an hour or so. If you've gotta do more than one system, make a custom map and wormhole-link the systems. That'll make inter-system travel a LOT faster while still requiring a mid-level tech to get between systems.
