Removing buildings.

I need to free up Logistic space. I'm trying to delete some buildings I've made. Problem is; there doesn't seem to be a way to be a way to delete complete buildings.. I've tried hitting delete on a highlighted building. The builders "deconstruct" Doesn't work on your own buildings. I checked the controls. All I could find was "Cancel build". I don't wanna cancel build. I wanna demolish a complete building to make space... Are you freaking kidding me? This game lacks a basic feature that all RTS games have. This is really annoying.

Please tell me I'm just missing something and there is a way to demolish your buildings...

There's a long, thin, bar above unit portraits, it's colored orange-yellow with black stripes. That's the scrap button, you can use it to scrap both ships and structures: after a delay (length depends on the ship or structure in question), the structure will be destroyed and you'll get a fraction of its resource cost back (damaged units give less resources).
Don't feel bad, it took me about 6 months before I found the button myself.

Kinda be careful with that button, it also abandons planets.

There's also a hot key for scuttling units/buildings/planets. I believe it's ctrl+s, but it might be shift instead. You can also configure it to be whatever you like in the hotkeys menu.

Yup, Shift + S, press it again to cancel.
It's actually referred to as "Scuttling" and it takes 30secs to remove/scrap items.
The biggest gripe I have is there's no "mass" scuttle. Meaning you have to remove one by one, and over a large empire that is incredibly time consuming if you want to scuttle tens or hundreds of buildings/ships.

Funniest thing is, you can also scuttle planets.
