Galaxy Forge Map Help - cannot share map with friend
I have made a map in galaxy forge and tested it in SP and works fine.

It works when I try and host the GF map in MP and works fine (by my self with all AI).

When my friend tries to join it says that they do not have the correct files - even though I have obviously sent them the file and we both have it in the correct GF directory.

This is a map with 6 pre-set teams of two (one of which I have deleted as the game only supports 10 players). All players have set starting positions and i'm 99% sure all parameters are correct.

Please advise.

Are you sure you both have it in the Galaxy Forge folder? There is technically two different ways to get maps in the game. You should both use the same method (I'd recommend the galaxy forge folder so that it appears in the Galaxy Forge maps tab).

If you're sure, can he play the map by himself.

Finally, did the text of the error message specifically mention maps? If not, try to play a standard random map together. It's possible its not the map file that is preventing you from playing, but a different file.

I appreciate your comment. But we have both tried the methods mentioned. We can both host the map in single and multiplayer by ourselves; and we can also play custom maps using the in-game editor.

The issue appears to be hosting a GF map in multi-player for some reason; and of course the map is in the correct Ironclad Documents directory.

And you can play normal games in multiplayer together (I.e. Random Small)?

Of course.. this is why I have taken to the forums.

We've always been able to play Sins.. up until I decide to make a multiplayer map using GF.

Weird. I've played plenty of galaxy forge maps online with friends.
