Is the Kol overpowered?
Besides the dunov, I find the kol to be one of the best caps in the game. A combo of GRG, heavy tanking ability, and virtual immunity to strikecraft makes it a game changer in battles. Personally, I find it to be a bit too much, so I advocate for flak burst's antimatter cost to be increased from 100 to 200.

Thoughts?

Strong combat vessel, but lacks utility(aside from flak). Great at absorbing damage and take out single targets and strike craft.

Initially it was my prefered Capital ship from TEC due it's strong "lone wolf" abilities. But it is less effective against massive fleets(still good against strike craft, but you have other ways to neutralize those).
Other ships have ways to neutralize strike craft as well, so I dont see the Kol's ability as something that needs that extreme cost you are suggesting.

Also, to avoid getting all your strike craft destroyed, send only a few squads at a time or spread them out on several targets.
If the Kol uses it's flak to take them out, focus the rest of your strike craft while the ability is on CD.

Try having 3-4 Marza dreadnoughts at level 6 and destroy an entire fleet with their Ultimate ability(missile spam of Doom). Not much any fleet can do. All frigates and cruisers just melt.

Also, having a single Akkan Battlecruiser to improve the damage of most of your fleet, while completly immobilize an enemy(shuts down every system with Ion Cannon).
Akkan is extremely potent in securing kills, since they can interupt/delay the enemy from jumping away.

TL:DR
The Kol Battleship is a straight arrow. It is not nearly as flexible compared to some of the other ship types in the game, and is quite vulneable to debuffs and antimatter drain, as it greatly reduces it's forte(single target damage, survivability and flak).

Kol is pretty bad actually.

He is trolling BTW. He was already banned for it once.

Projection much, Ryat? If you hop on the official forums, the regulars there all agree that Ryat is a bit of a troll. Just check out his last ten responses (or Bartowski's or Seleuceia's, his alternate accounts).

Exactly. That's why I haven't been banned and you have. Just saying.

I dont care which one of you is the "real" troll, but the fact of the matter is, that you would rather respond to him(Ryat, who added nothing constructive to the post), than me(who tried to be constructive). :/

So from my point of view, this topic is sadly derailed already.

The Kol is great except its antimatter costs. If it can use its abilities often enough, such as if assisted by Starbase docking booms or advent antimatter regen platforms, then the Kol becomes pretty useful. Compared to the immense fleet value of Kortul Devastators or Radiance Battleships, the Kol is pretty mediocre. Personally I feel that combining disruptive strikes with surge makes the Kortul already far superior, given the equivalent abilities gauss railgun and adaptive forcefield is a one or the other pick rather than one and the other with some antimatter damage on top (although again, if you can spam abilities the Kol will win).
