Multicore support added or?
Love playing Trinity, however the game will slow down to a crawl after a certain while when 8 players have gigantic fleets - Task manager only shows 1 core being utilized and that's a damn shame.

So is multicore support in this game or not?

No, the engine needs to be completely rewritten for that. They made some under the hood optimizations but it is still 1 core doing most of the work.

No, it's single core. The game first came out back in 2008 when multicore CPUs weren't that mainstream yet. They'd have to redo the entire game engine to support multicore. Here's hoping for a Sins 2.

Only thing you can do is play with less computers on the bigger maps sadly.....

When I'd heard Rebellion was stand alone, I was enthusiastic. I believed they were doing that because of the advances in computers since the original had been released.

Was really hoping for a 64 bit engine mostly, because I play a lot of mods with this game, and mods kill the game faster every time.

Wonder just how much reworking would need to be done to patch it into a different engine.

They'd have to make the game from scratch. Which is why we'll need to wait for Sins 2 for the 64 bit engine.

A tremendous amount. They'd have to recode the entire engine and the game to take advantage of it. It's like creating a brand new game.

If they recoded Rebellion for Multicore support i would buy it again.

Yeah, this is an OLD game the devs keep creating expanions for to keep sales up. Don't buy this and demand that the developers create a new version. Sins of a solar Empire 2, with Linux support, better UI, AI, and larger fleets.

I'd be down with that.

And how do you suppose they fund the new project if you don't support them? Some great logic there. Kids and their sense of entitlement these days... :rfacepalm::cfacepalm:
