Level ten titans of course are much harder to deal with but most of the ideas still hold, though as Scruffy mentions killing them before they get to that point is the ideal solution. Also if you fight an Eradica that is level 6 or higher, make sure you run away once it dies...
If you don't like the titan's keeping their levels mechanic at all and don't mind mods, I have worked out a crude way of stopping it so that titans always respawn at level 1. You can get it as an addon on for my Enhanced 4X Mod. http://www.moddb.com/mods/enhanced-4x-mod
I don't have much experience with the Advent Rebels, generally because it seems either the TEC Rebels, or the Vassari loyalists eliminate them so quickly that I never really fight them. And the TEC Rebels, much like the Advent and Vassari loyalists, are all about sheer overwhelming power. That rail gun is nasty, but has a hefty CD, it lacks high shield capacity, but makes up for it in brute strength. Where as the TEC loyalists, are like the Advent Loyalists, lots of shields and heavy firepower.
So, in short, it really depends on the titan. Also, note I haven't even mentioned the Vassari Rebel titan, thats because even at lvl10 its not that intimidating, low shields, low health and frankly, weak as all hell. But, a good tactic is to use your full fleet and preform a Red October. Hunt down that titan and murder it. However, the fleet make up can also be a hinderance. If your fleets carrier heavy, it will lack a great deal of real firepower for the large number of strike craft or bombers. And the same can be said for the reverse. So in truth, the best way to combat them is to not let them get to lvl10, but in the case they do get to 10, throw everything you got at them, because if they come at you, its going to be hell trying to beat them back.
The second one i find hard to take out is the tec loyalist just because of the huge defensive capabilities he has. if you do fight with him make sure your fleet will be able to last a long fight as reinforcements generally get there to help the titan before he dies.
The other ones are basically just spam what ever you can that packs a big punch, like heavies. The only other one, as goa said, when you kill the eradica, get your fleet out asap if its above 6!
hope this helps
I remember seeing an old thread series (that never completed) discussing which titan was the best in the game. TEC-R titan has a mean offense, but it falls short if it has to fight a TEC-L titan thats in its own gravity well.
So, if you want to deal with enemy titans offensively, play TEC rebel and bring a buttload of corvettes as they should hinder the efficiency of their titan. TEC-R titan is a monster on the offensive, with its spammable snipe ability and its ultimate that buffs snipe to make it even more powerful, and its railgun primary on the front that does huge sums of damage. It might also help bringing durnov capitals to keep your titan shields up, and the command cruisers(?) to strengthen/debuff.
Alternatively, you can play TEC-L and fight them on your own territory. TEC-L is a more defensive faction that gains tremendous offensive/defensive bonuses while in your owned gravity wells. Combine that with its titan and two starbases (preferably right next to each other), and you've got an unbreakable fortress on each planet. Since TEC-L titan buffs and debuffs everything in the gravity well its in, that means you can make your starbases even more efficient. Phase jump inhibitor would also help a lot to prevent enemy titan from escaping easily. Let the enemy attack, smash their titan in your well, then retaliate.
Cool you put a vid but you really should play fast then voice over after so people dont get so bored waiting for a few tidbits of info in 5 minutes of game play. Also, boost video quality if you can as trying to squint through 480p with this game is a pain.
I recorded in higher quality, sadly with my internet connection it would take over 24 hours to upload it at full quality, which isn't an option for me. <_<
<--- Uses 144p because internet's that slow and I see this.
You truly are blessed. I hope you never have to move and get crappy internet.
