A good mod thats relatively complete. It combines the base game and the Star Wars Universe (Imperials and Rebel Alliance) to make a very nice cross-over.
Sins of a Galactic Empire: http://www.moddb.com/mods/sins-of-a-galactic-empire
My least favourite to play alone, but still a very good mod in its own right. Combines the Clone Wars, Imperial Civil War, and the Yuzhaan Vong Wars and there is an optional addon for the Old Republic.
Star Wars Ascendency: http://www.moddb.com/mods/star-wars-ascendancy
My current favourite, combines the Imperial Remnant, New Republic, Empire of the Hand, and the Pentastar Alignment. A great mod and I am looking forward to its progress.
Each mod will have their own instructions you should read for installing, but usually it goes download the mod, extract it to your mod folder, for total conversions apply an included patch called Large Address Aware and enable the mod. You should read the mod's download page and readme files to see if there is anything else you should do during installation.
With the Large Address file, do I have to do anything to revert back to the original game?
Regarding LAA, you don't need to revert back. As I understand it, Sins runs on a 32-bit engine, which limits the amount of ram the game can use. LAA just increases that amount. It just makes big mods more stable.
Hope I helped.
Just wondering about xwing fighters... when I launch them I don't see them, but I see the Awings.
I've noticed there are a mass of patches at the above site.
Thanks again
Actually, I have installed ascendancy first and the two others at above links and modified the enabledmodstxt to:
TXT
Version 0
enabledModNameCount 3
enabledModName "Ascendancy-V1"
enabledModName "Star Wars Interregnum Alpha 3.1"
enabledModName "Enhanced 4X Mod 1.8"
And now game won't load. I think it's the text file or I am missing a patch,
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am sure others wwho are buying this game on sale right now would be having similar problems if they are trying to use these mods.
Thanks!
So to run Interregnum your mod order should be like this for example.
Large Address Aware doesn't actually change the game, just allows it to use more memory, which most large mods need. Any time the game is updated or reinstalled though you have to apply it again.
TXT
Version 0
enabledModNameCount 2
enabledModName "Star Wars Interregnum Alpha 3.1"
enabledModName "Enhanced 4X Mod 1.8"
