Titans are not good for the game.
So I have been playing this game for a long time and way before Titans showed up. Does anyone else long for the days before Titans? I don't play multi at all, but against the very hard computers all it generally comes down to is a race to get the first Titan. I wish the devs would make them an option that you could switch off if you desired.

I think it would be good to have the option. I think the titans are fun, but there are downsides to their necessity.
If you look up the E4X mod there is a mini-mod to disable titans in the game. But it would be best to have it as a built in, official feature.
Lol I'm trying a Fear of Icebergs run and Titans are a big issue. May try for a Vasari Missile Swarm. I figure if I bypass shields with a few hundred Missile Boats it should melt pretty fast!

You're playing against very hard computers and you're complaining that it's too hard instead of getting better at the game, sounds like user error to me.

Titans are fine, at lower levels they are not a big deal. If you are having some issues with them, get some early defense and a space station at a chokehold spot. Or you know, go full fighter and bomber force and destroy that thing like it's nothing.

Yeah honestly I'm rather unimpressed by titans overall. I'm in a 9 AI hard game and while they beat me to the titans, they have been unable to push any further into my territory beyond one gravity well. I'm not sure if its just the AI are rather incapable of preserving the potenial or not, but they have been just throwing them worthlessly at my defenses for a long time.

AIs tend to lose them often, but since titans keep levels, sooner or later they are really nasty level 10s.

My opinion is that Titans are cream de la cream of this magic game

Huh, I did not know that. Does it cost more to rebuild a high level Titan, like with heroes in Warcraft III?

Yes.

several of the titans are kinda cool but balance wise it seems to pretty heavily favor the ragnarov. The tec rebel can clear solid fleets solo even at >5 and at level plus they are complete sweepers. overcharge and explosive shot can one shot frigates and some cruisers. It may not be the toughest titan but it isn't exactly squishy either. In fact The only change to the game i would like to see is balancing titans, other than that, this is one of my favorite games.

The Ragnarov is kind of good at direct combat, normally it can take down another titan at the same level with ease, however its not that good at area damage, so other titans are better when engaging big fleets, as well as supporting your own forces better etc.

I dont know why but every time I play E4X and the advent titans show up they absolutely wreck my ♥♥♥♥, even on fortress worlds with 3 maxed out starbases and full tactical structure support as TEC loyalists. its completely wild.

Advent titans have rather high single target dps and at the same time pretty defensive. They do lack area damage though and are sitting ducks for long ranged attacks and squadrons. So counter against it

Ankylon is great support, create your fleet around it, it can't do much on its own. Sure it does stuff, but that is not how it is designed

Ragnarov has most likely the most dps in the game, 1v1 it pretty much kills everything, however defensive it is lacking and completely gets thrashed against groups

The Visari titans have ridiculous area damage, however in 1v1's they are lacking and need support to deal with enemy capital ships and titans.
